I've watched this film at least a dozen times, yet Eastern Promises only once.

I must fix that. I can barely remember EP outside of a few awesome sequences. No idea why I've never returned to it.

I think I fell asleep during it.

Guess I'd better watch it again to make sure I like it.

Because History of Violence is great and Eastern Promises a lackluster turd that completely vaporizes any meaning through that "twist".

I just felt it collapsed when Viggo went to see his brother or something, can't remember it correctly.

I'm in the 'great film' camp, but it did feel a bit rushed at this point. I guess that's what can happen when you adapt just the first third of a comic and have to tack your own ending on.

I enjoyed Eastern Promises more but A History of Violence is fantastic as well.

I don't even remember the twist!

What I can remember of EP I really liked. I'm so chucking the DVD in tonight.

You will enjoy it, and the "twist" worked fine for me, meant there could be a sequel (and there was one planned for a time, not sure if the director still has it in the cards or not.)

This movie is incredible.
Both films are two sides of the same coin. Viggo is a good man with questionable intentions in Eastern Promises, and a questionable man with good intentions in A History of Violence.

How many women would be able to fit into their high school cheerleader outfit after all those years?
Urgh. Please do not mention that scene ever again. Seriously has there ever been a more cringey moment in a film? Especially when she did the cheerleader cheer or whatever.
