Friend of mine is going to see it tomorrow, supposed to be showing in Sydney and Melbourne down here. Few reviews said it was good, last car scene in the movie was unreal supposedly.

All I hope is that there is NO silly Honkie humour.

I hate the fact that they're buying a very Japanese license, but doing a half-assed HK thing with it. however, this is the team that brought us Infernal Affairs, and it's supposedly "the 2005 hk box office savior"... it's not going to be all that bad.

its a box office savior because initial d is really popular and it has people like jay chou and edison whats his name in it.

yeah. also cuz the recent HK movies have been really shit, and no one watches them except from the comfort of their own computers.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not defending this cast of pop idols... but given the HK industry, they could've picked someone worse. For example, just be glad that EEG didn't have a hand in this.
