?We were like, why the fuck would you make THUNDERBIRDS without the one interesting thing about that show?? Trey said, laughing. ?It?s a lame concept, but at least the puppets made it all look cool.?

If you mean the William Frakes live-action one, then yeah. Team America will be an instant classic, though.

I know how moriarty tends to blow things out of proportion but this sounds like it could be really funny.

Wow, after readin that, it's basically my most anticipated movie, right behind Wes Anderson's new film.

1. The Life Aquatic
2. Team America
3. Batman Begins

That looks great. I was actually expecting a more muppet-esque foam face sort of thing.

I will most likely go see this, but it has potential to flop hard in the box office.

Sounds like a funny premise, but I don't get the big deal about puppets. For example, in the article, they were bragging about there being a puppet sex scene. Ha? That doesn't strike me as funny in the least. That's the kind of stuff I see eight year olds do with their stuffed animals for a laugh.

Nevertheless, I have great respect for Stone and Parker's work, and I will probably see this movie for its satire. Just not the puppet sex.

I'm tempted to say the puppets look too good. I guess it might work if they're apparently going to be playing it more straight and just have us laugh at how absurd it is... I'm not sure. I was excited after the set report, but these photos knock that down a notch. I feel like it should be a little more stylized and cartoony. I'll have to wait and see the trailer.

The funny part is that, Trey and Matt are late to the party, as there has been full-frontal puppet nudity and puppet sex on Broadway in New York for over a year now, and it just won the Tony Award for Best New Musical. It's a show called "Avenue Q," but it uses more muppet-like puppets for the show rather than marionettes.

Avenue Q is hilarious. I actually included a track from the score for my Summer Mix.

I've never actually seen the show, and probably never will since I doubt it will tour, but I found the CD somewhat "annoyingly witty" and I couldn't help but think about Southpark the whole time listening to it. I personally think "Wicked" has the more theatrical and touching story of the season and deserved the Best Musical Tony moreso than Avenue Q, but oh well, at least Idina Menzel won her Tony, that's all I really cared about, they'll never give a Tony to Stephen Schwartz though, I'm pretty sure of it! LOL.

Avenue Q is not touring, at least not immediately. It's instead opening for an exclusive run in Las Vegas starting sometime next year. I'm finally seeing it next week here in NYC. One of my best friend's boyfriend wrote the book for it so it meant fun Avenue Q Tony party crashing after the awards show. And you've gotta love a musical that includes a song called "The Internet is for Porn."

Oh, and on topic, Team America sounds fucking fantastic.

Looks cool. It should be funny as hell. Course it could turn out ass-retarded.

On a related note does anyone else remember a nasty parody of Thunderbirds? It had the wife of a doctor cheating with a member of the team. In one episode her boyfriend couldn't get it up. It was really odd watching marionnettes crying over erectile dysfunction.
