A New Banjo Kazooie is Not in Development, It's Claimed

I would take whatever chances you thought there were for Microsoft to revive a franchise, especially one as inconsequential as this one (sorry, not sorry), and cut them in half. Any revival not announced before the ABK acquisition is probably much less likely to happen now.

I loved Rare's games back when Nintendo owned them with Banjo-Kazooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day (obviously!), Diddy Kong Racing and Star Fox Adventures being my personal favourites, but I feel they've been criminally wasted since Microsoft bought them. I absolutely hated Sea of Thieves, not my cup of tea at all (live service crap with a hideous art style!) and even Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, which is the nearest thing Rare ever did to feeling like their old stuff, was a crushing disappointing, ignoring the fun platforming of the originals in favour of building vehicles (boring!) and having a bizarre art style that just didn't look quite right to me.

Wish Nintendo would buy Rare back, honestly, as Microsoft seem to be the kiss of death for any developers they buy, assuming that they don't close them down shortly after...

Yes, their Monkey Island add-on for it was the most fun experience probably since the second Guybrush Threepwood adventure.

Anything else other than single game? Come on, obviously they have more winning titles besides a single one. I mean, they have so many IPs like Banjo and Conker. Nothing?

No, as you probably know already, they have only made one game since their Kinect days but it has evolved so much there is content for 5 games in it. I know it is not what a lot of people want, but it is enough for us, fans of the game.

Good.
Nintendo should have buy them, I stick with what I said. Nintendo would have developed dozens of fun Banjo and Conkers games during all these 2 decades worth of a single game that just a few people play. Totally worth the trade.

Doesn't matter. There is no way a game like this would be good nowadays, unless it was a completely different game that wouldn't need the B-K title either way.

Microsoft buying Rare was the biggest mistake of all. Would be better if it was Nintendo.
Nintendo is the reason Rare went to Microsoft. It was arrogance and short-sightedness of Nintendo management at the time to let them go in 2002. No doubt they'd have been huge contributors to the lineup for Wii, 3DS, Wii U & Switch. Rare started bleeding talent as soon as they were sold.

While I've long wanted a Banjo Threeie, I fear the time has probably long passed, the original team is long since not there anymore and are both scattered and retired, it's probably unlikely they could recreate the magic now. I still might like to see it.

B&K for N64 was pure magic and under-appreciated for how little future the franchise would get. The N64 without Rare would have much less soul. Nintendo not keeping them was a huge mistake.

I've waited the whole Xbox One gen for a new Banjo game. Not gonna happen. And when it does, I'm not gonna care anymore.
LOL. You didn't seriously expect one tho, did you? I don't think the chance of it happening was ever above 0%.

Who is even at Rare now who has experience making 3D platformers? It can't be many. Most of the old gang is at Playtonic.

This. Even if Rare did make one now, you wouldn't want it.

I hope its not true, a proper banjo threeie would be my most anticipated game outside of GTA6 right now
