Yep, the enemy AI is way too cheap. The character also just stands there for the 5~8 second pre-canned death animation, the game should have had some kind of last second mechanic to try and avoid the enemy (since they can't see and all).
I encountered a bug that allowed me to traverse an entire area without alerting the enemy. It was toward the end of a game, I was near this room, and it busted through the wall, and then it just stopped and stood there. And I ran around the room at full speed and the creature was just frozen in place and didn't move. And it was such a fucking relief that I could move throughout the area and finish up what I needed to do with no worries. And then when I got through the checkpoint door to the next area, the game automatically killed me. Luckily when it reloaded, it counted the checkpoint. I think what happened it the enemy was ready to kill me, but right before it triggered the whole animation, it froze, and then getting to a checkpoint triggered it.

One thing that's lame about this game is the animations are pre-scripted. For example one time I died in one area, but the animation showed me the creature killing me in another.

They should've never made walking in this game cause noise unless you step on something that can make noise, it really ruined the experience having basic footsteps kill you.

And I maintain even then it's inconsistent. There were times where I literally fucking crawled and somehow it still heard me. Made me almost quit the game I'm like no fucking way this is total bullshit.
