Love the book saw the new trailer when I saw Batman begins when it first started...cant wait...Love the style from waking Life, big fan of Richard Linklater work, this movie has to be great...

Awesome PKD book - my favorite author.
Can't wait to see how they turn this into a movie.
Hopefully they don't shy away from all the crazy drug use in the story.

I dont see how they can shy away from the drug use, if I remember correctly it plays a big part in the story. It has been awhile since I read it though.

Yeah, from what I remember of the story most of it takes place in almost crackhouse-type places. It also has an amazing twist in the story - if they do it right in the movie it could be up there with "The Sixth Sense".

I'm surprised that "The Man in the High Castle" was never made into a movie or made-for-TV.

Er, I don't think there's really a major twist in the book.

The Bob/Fred thing is the pretense under which the whole novel takes place. I believe this is even divulged on the back of th enovel

If you mean the whole "rehab makes substance D thing," I don't think that's all that amazing, and I think the theme of the book has become muddled at that point by Dick's chronic inability to write an affecting ending

Someday, I'm going to write an adaptation of The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch and make it a miniseries.

Hmmm - I thought that was revealed later but heck it's been ten years since I read the book.
You're right, his endings usually end in a nonsensical clusterfuck.
Radio Free Albumeth probably has the best ending though.

I dunno, this trailer... doesn't inspire me to confidence. The book is really good imo, but as white man said, very muddled. The movie looks muddled too, but not just thematically -- visually as well, which I think will hurt it.

I like the book an awful lot. I think PKD was just aware that his endings weren't very good, so he kind of threw in that "twist," which really has very little with the messages the novel is trying to convey.

Then again, I think he had a muddled mind, too. Maybe that's the ending he always envisioned.
