Absolute Batman takes so much of the established lore and characters of Batman, but with slight or large twists. All of which have been a lot of fun for readers like myself.

Compared to Batman from the Arkham Trilogy this Batman is not a rich Bruce Wayne.

He's also built like a fucking fridge, uses an axe, and will absolutely cripple mother fuckers. Midgets aren't safe in his streets.

A rated M game of this would be bat shit insane fun for players.

This would be a fantastic departure from Arkham series and likely would need a better studio than Rocksteady at this point to spearhead it.

I read a couple of issues and was impressed by some of the changes they made; recently I heard some of the storyline that has transpired and thought it was interesting. Wonder if it will stand the test of time like Ultimate Spider-Man.

I think WB will be too risk-averse to include one of the most popular superheroes in a single-player, big-budget, blockbuster M-rated game.

At best, I can see this version in Injustice or as a guest character in Mortal Kombat.

James Gunn would green light it if it was the right studio and a good game.

That new Batman LEGO game looks amazing.

And most of gunns personal material can be M rated like peacemaker or creature commandos.

Yes, those are different and smaller IP's.

They are not one of the most popular IPs and superheroes of all time.

You realize Arkham knight is rated M right?

Has cursing, cop killing, and more.

Pretty sure it's not going to effect this being greenlit…

Really curious to see what their strategy is around video games. The first few comments made aren't very realistic, unfortunately, and they hint at things like the Absolute Universer not being on the table.

We ain't getting no decent Batman game of any kind anytime soon.
I'll take both of these:

Lego game looks sick.

I haven't read it, but I've watched some re-tellings of the story on YouTube. Super dark stuff, I'd love to see it adapted to a video game with a serious budget.

The Mr. Freeze ark in this is horrifying, both for Mr. Freeze himself and Batman.

As someone who reads manga, manhua, and manwha, I am really not a fan of American comic book art style. It is just so minimalist, like a brief sketch then colored by 4 or so colors and that's the entire page. Not complaining against more games though.

Also, I know there are some cruddy ones from the ones I like (the original One Punch Man by One is awful, even if the manga is great), I just don't think I have ever seen a comic that made me think it was really well done (see One Punch Man by Yusuke Murata), or countless Korean and Chinese full color ones.

I don't wanna poopoo your idea as I know you're really into this, and I dig the passion OP, seriously. I just don't really dig the look that much at all, so it's not for me, but I hope this game gets made for you OP :D

If you read more comics, you'll find the there's not a lot of difference. With the main one being full coloured books vs not full coloured.

There are manga series - especially weekly ones, where the art is over simplistic as well.

On the Western comic side, I can cherry pick a couple books that will throw your description on its head. Even ones with just 2 colours are really well laid out.

Time for you to unload the best comic recommendations you want to cook up.

For me personally of things that are more modern and impressive on the Marvel and DC side:

Batman New 52

For me the best artists and best story tellers get their hands on Batman and on X men which is why I only keep buying their comics. I read plenty of manga and watch anime, and aside from Berserk, nothing touches X men in manga.

You talking about comics that could make good videogames? I would say Monstress would make a good RPG with Celshaded Graphics

Bone by Jeff Smith could be a good videogame too

Fables is another one, oh wait there's The Wolf Among Us. I hope the sequel is still being worked on

As for manga, I still prefer manga to comics but for X-Men, Grant Morrision New X-Men is still the GOAT when it comes to my favorite Marvel Comic

But if I wanted a game based off a Marvel character, I would love to see a big budget Doctor Strange game

Other poster was not finding any comics on par to manga art. Wasn't sure if art alone you find something on the level of a manga.

Nothing beats Berserk sure but plenty is on the level of other mangas in the comic sphere.

When comes to art in comics and manga. I love them both equally but I think that manga inches over comics in that aspect due to their art being black and white. I feel that with comic art especially since they use color, the detail can get lost at times. As for Berserk, that art is INSANE. From what I heard that even when he went full digital for the manga, he would still take a lot of time just adding details to his drawing. That's how much of a perfectionist Miura was when it came to drawing Berserk. I can think of other manga that can compete with comics on the artistic front too, Made In Abyss, Vagabond, Gantz, Claymore, One Piece, Dandadan, The Ancient Magus Bride, etc.

As for comics, I love especially when they do single spreads and double spreads. Same with manga

That's only a testament of the power Rocksteady held within WB Games after the success of Arkham City, that they were allowed to pursue their next DC project with more creative freedom, even at the expense of targeting a slightly more limited potential audience. This was also true of the development of Suicide Squad, following the success of Arkham Knight.

On the contrary, Gotham Knights -- developed by the less renowned WB Games Montreal -- was rated T, as were Asylum, City and Origins.

I love any and all Batman, so yes. I support this.

It's so edgy and bad. Don't get the dick riding for any of those books. Not even MM. Snyder lost it with Metal, everything after that is just more of this hard rock hellscape.
