It's defintely going to shrink after years of stagnation. From 3 major palyers down to 2. Unless there is a PS1 or WII type revolution, it's going to go backwards. People are being priced out of gaming, kids are locked into their GAAS of choice. Digital store fronts, services and microtransactions have hid the truth for a while now and made it seem like everything is okay. Record profits, the calm before the storm as the bottom falls out.
When you see games in bins for $5 or less, let me know. I would call it a return to form not a crash.
