Raids are kinda useless. What i did was just go in alone kill everything and then summon the vikings to open chests. Way more efficient.
The game is more solo play then waling with another char in england.

OK, thanks! Then I may want to give it a few more hours at least. I liked getting to England and setting things up there, but the first few missions I got was just team raids and companion stuff which put me off. But yeah, it's not uncommon that you need to play many hours before you get the feel for these huge and long AC games.

Just finished the Vinland saga. It was easier than I thought it would be; actually enjoyed it. Heading to Jorvik now. Can’t wait for the endgame.

Seems like free running is the most broken it has ever been in the series and that's saying something. Going after the flying pages / tatoos, you have to hope your character goes towards the direction you want him to instead of randomly climbing a different wall or jumping off. It's extreme;y frustrating, how they managed it is beyond me.

Yeah big step back from origins imo. BUT who the fuck playtests those papers and says yep they work 100% as intended.

The dragon's wooden texture felt so real that I couldn't miss it.
I'm trying to have some B&W pictures but still can't find a good setting, fact that the sliders aren't even graduated doesn't help. The photomode is very barebone and could be so much better with just a few extra settings. I would like for example to take some W&B shots, but can't find a way to do it.

I've officially given up on this game. I was a big fan of orgins and odyssey despite the latter having major issues, but I've spent more time pissed off than having fun playing valhalla. Its the equivalent of far cry 5 where I'm having major doubts if I ever want to play another game in this series.

If its like Odyssey, certain cutscenes are "premium" and they get much nicer animation, blocking, and camera work. Its a night and day difference

I picked this up the other day for the PS5 which I was lucky to get. I want to enjoy it, but the combat feels so jank and arcade like, especially after having played through Ghost of Tsushima. I'm enjoying the exploration but combat is putting me off. I'm early days in this game, just got to England. Please tell me it gets better.

Yeah, I can't go on. Uninstalling this and reinstalling Odyssey. I can't believe they pretty much fucked up everything. I got to the point where I was stacking an impossible cairn and thoroughly not enjoying myself. Then I stopped and thought "Hey, I should go do something else" and opened my map. Stupid word minigame? why bother? Chasing papers with the crappy free run that only sometimes work? Not fun. Go collect some gear? Why? Everything I pick up is a sidegrade. Absolutely all incentive to get gear disappeared after I realized the loot pool is 1/12th of Odessy's. Raids? God please no. They had to force people to bring a raid to open the chests. That's how bad they knew it was. Nobody would bother otherwise and just solo the monasteries. Upgrade my town? It's a linear slog with materials only available from monasteries. Apparently those are magical and the building materials available in the rest of the world don't matter. Who thought that made sense. I can go fight some optional bosses. I mean, I'm not totally tired of their infinite stamina infinite poise undodgable bullshit that really just requires you to dual wield spears and overlevel. No, wait. I could go level! yeah! another 2 skill points in the pool of HUNDREDS I've gotten so far. I already know I won't be getting plat because of the stupid minigames so map completion has lost all appeal.
But wait...surely the story will hahhahaHAHAHA <snort>. The lead character is a Viking who left his clan because he hasn't had enough bloodshed, but you game over if you kill English civilians during a raid. The subject matter is given absolutely no weight and I'm expected to care. The exact point I gave up on him was when I had to escort some unarmed nuns who were beating up wolves and he went "Boy, I sure shouldn't underestimate woman power!". A Viking written in 2020, folks. Turned out exactly as expected. Respect those females as you burn their churches. Amazing.
There's nothing this does that wasn't done better in the previous two games.

Cant seem to complete the decorate ravensthorpe mission,I did the whole town and it’s saying I’m missing one anybody run into this?
Currently on the basim boss fight and this is what i love about AC , bring on the first civilization lore into it.
Valhalla has grown on me , it didnt grab me for the first couple hours and yes the map is way to big but when then pull first civilization , templar/assassins stuff im all in.
There are some funny stories in the sections we have to pledge but some could be cutted easily. Eivor has also grown on me as a character.
Still on the fence if i platininum the game or not , it would be cool because being a huge fan of AC and the next platinum is number 100 would be a nice thing.
Still curious on how the hell eivor´s body ends up in the US (maybe connections with AC3?)
Asgard and Junhghieilm were cool side quests but i hated the magic stuff in Junhghieilm .
Probably gonna get the season pass when its discounted around 50% off as i usually do.
Hopefully the next AC is a little more focused and small , i really miss a more small AC , something between unity and origins with a focus being on a single city but with the way ubisoft is going unfortunally i dont see them doing that.

This is one of those games I'll never play... Like hellbade 2... I guess i just feel that i know what they're about and I've no appetite for it anymore.. halo Infinite is, to quote dire straits, so far away from me... i think my chances of playing it are in the single digits of percent
has anyone played both AC Valhalla and Far Cry 6?
i was really brought down by the gigantic and bored map of Valhalla (sorry...its the worst AC to date, its not even AC anymore sadly, is eivor even an assassin?) and was thinking about getting Far Cry 6 but im afraid the world is just as gigantic as Valhalla.
Can anyone give me some feedback on this?

After close to 3 years and 160 hours of playtime, I finally finished the story (still have about 20 hours of content left + all the dlcs) and I must say I am impressed with the story, although I did not expect it. I must say, I think this one is among the best in the franchise. The modern day, the lore, the isu, the kinship, the sidestories, the plot twists with both Basim and Aelfred and everything, I just love it. It is especially good after the horrible 5-year-old level pc woke shitty writing of Odyssey. I guess I’m in the minority but Aelfred’s story really touched me, but I don’t want to spoil it in case anyone intends to play it. I wonder if are there anyone else who liked the story(es) in this game that much as me.

Lads, I'm in the mood for some atmospheric, "historical" brain dead action and this is 17 eurodollars ATM on PSN, thing is, there's about 4-5 different versions of the game and I don't know which one to go for...
There's the ultimate edition which goes for 36 eurodollars and has everything included, but, I'm afraid that by the end I'm gonna get so burned out that I'll not even bother with all the DLC - same thing happened with Odyssey where after 100+ hours of the main game game I couldn't be bothered with the Atlantis DLC.
So, shall I just go for the normal edition for some mindless entertainment ?

Yes, if you buy the deluxe editions or complete you'll have loads of people in your home sending you elsewhere. The base game is like 140hours anyway
