Ace Combat 5 - $5

Considering this deal is fatwallet'd and probably reported on just about every deal site out there, I have doubts that pricematching will even be possible

They do, and I've seen some stores go as far to put a notice on the entrance to the store stating that there's a misprint. A slightly sarcastic "Good luck getting it honored" to all of those who are going to try, though. I'd suggest saving everyone in line behind you a headache and not put up a fight if they say no and/or laugh at the very notion.

Not only that, but if someone at Sears noticed this and figures they'll take a bath on it, there's a very good chance they'll take out a flyer correction ad that says "hey, we screwed up" in the edition of the paper the flyer is released in.

I got a Sears ad. This was nowhere to be found in it. the only, videogame, thing was a small DS bar at the bottom of a page.

Got this in the paper today.

Heading out to Sears tomorrow morning at 7am. If no luck, then I'm heading on to Circuit City.

Alright dudes, i would appreciate it if someone could answer these questions.

1. Does EB/Gamestop/GameCrazy take multiple copies of the same games?
2. Do the above stores take sealed games and to they sell for more if they are sealed?
3. Does store credit count in all chains of EBs or the other stores? Say if i had $50 of credit at one EB, could i go to a different EB and use this credit?
4. What store gives the most trade in credit for new games right now?

1. never tried it, but i don't see why not.

2. no

3.yeah. IIRC, both EB and Gamestop give you the store credit on a card that can be used at any store

4. Gamerush, if you got one. Otherwise, both EB and Gamestop are pretty much the same.

Gamerush gave me something like $7 for F-Zero GX and Jak and Daxter. It was $20 for a copy of Halo. Then if you traded three in at once, you'd get an extra $5.

I have accumulated about $370 on $70 (from used Maddens and the like- which go for $1.50 at Game Rush). :) Right now, I think they're having a deal where you can trade in any DVD movie and get at least $8 for it. It's a pretty good deal- you might want to consider looking around Target/Wal-Mart/Best Buy for the $2-$5 DVDs if you want to take advantage of this.

I'm not expecting the pricematch to go through but I at least have to try

Same here. Can't find a circular around, I'll try to check at Sears.

Worst case scenario, I go to a mall that's apparently very nice that I never went to before.

Best case, I get 4 copies at Wal-Mart, trade in 3, buy UT2K4, give a copy of AC5 to someone on GAF, and use the rest of the tradein credit to buy a used 64 and Mario 64 for a secret Santa program

Does Walmart do price matching?
I'mma buy a newspaper as soon as I get off work!

Worst case scenario, I end up with nothing tomorrow. Best case, i end up with a brand new copy of MGS:SE.

Yep, they do. And last time i went to Walmart, the game didn't even have to be in stock for them to price match it. =D

BTW, it was for the Circuit City $5 deal and the games i had them price match me were full price, so yeah... they most likely will allow for a price match if it's advertised. Though, you better hope they don't call the Sears to check.

That's why I plan on going in the wee hours of the morning when Sears is closed. :lol

I'll price match every game on that list... Can you buy multiple copies of the same price matched game?

I just went to the store, and confirme dthat this Ad is 100% real... I'll be going to Walmart as soon as I get off :)

Sorry, my camera phone has weird angles.

This is a real ad. I saw this at work earlier and the ad looked the same way it was shown earlier. The ad should of been in your Weds. or Fri. paper. More than likely they meant the AC4 game. If you bring in the ad they will honor it. Oh and one other important note.. The sale only runs 7am to 12pm, so those prices are only in effect for those five hours.

Correction:
All sales listed on the front and back cover of the ad are good between 7AM & 12PM. All other sales/prices listed (including the games) are good all day long on Saturday.

Sears doesn't have to honor it. CAG'ers found signs at Sears today stating that the ad was suppose to have AC4 pictured, not AC5.

And some people were successful in pricematching it TODAY, while others were not (because it wasn't Saturday, or the price difference was too great)

i got the Friday edition of the Tulsa World newspaper and the Sears circular was in it and sure enough the ad for Ace Combat 5 for $4.99 was in it.

whoohoo.

i am going to score as many as possible and keep one for myself and sell the rest to GAF'rs for cost + shipping (and i will not accept a penny extra "for my trouble" because it's here where people have saved me tons of money all the time for no cost so its time to return the favor).

i'll post tomorrow if i can score any.

I don't see how they could possibly get away with NOT honoring this. They obviously meant Ace Combat 4, but THEY PRINTED THE AC5 BOXART. They HAVE to honor that, because that is the deal they advertised. It would be one thing if they just made a typo on the name or something, but there is no way I can see them getting out of this without basically saying "fuck you" to the customer.

Not sure where people get this from. The only thing they have to do is say 'sorry this is a misprint' somewhere in the story and they're fine. You may get someone clueless to give it to you at that price, but no store is obligated in any way to give you a 'pricing mistake' price.

Put me down for one, as well. Unlike a lot of people here, I actually want to play the game, not just trade it.

I'm going to bring $22 and see what happens. If I can, I'll try pricematching at BB/Wal-Mart/CC. If not, then it's off to Sears as a last resort.

Which is fine, and i have no problem if it's a posted sign. Otherwise, I expect them to honor it.

My store had obvioulsy pulled the copies from the shelf since I got there when the store opened, and I was recommended "Ace Combat 4" when I asked if they had the game.

No signs though.

edit: still might go try to pricematch though.

I got it :D

The Sears only had 2 copies and another dude knew about the screw up so i only snagged one. I want to price match this today to see if i can get more copies.

You think they would accept a printed off picture of the ad???

You guys get ads in the Saturday paper? I never have.

It screws over the stores

So how is everyone who is getting this deal doing it? Just show them the ad and they price match you without calling Sears? OR does Sears actually have the price as 4.99 for AC5?
