I know it was already mentioned in another thread but Ace Combat Zero (subtitled: The Belcan War right?) deserves it's own fucking thread.

from the scanned images, ACZ seems to be using the AC5 graphics engine.

anyone know if ACZ is gonna be online playable? originally, AC5, when it was known as Project Aces, was going to be online, but that was dropped in late 2003 or 2004 during development.





I cannot wait for ACZ cuz I'm a huge fan of the series, dating all the way back to 1992 or 1993 when the original Air Combat arcade came out with its System21-powered flat shaded polygon graphics...godamn that game was addictive.

no, it's for PS2.

there is no way in the wild blue yonder that Namco would be showing a next-gen Ace Combat game for Playstation3 this early.

no doubt, a next-gen AC6 game is in the early phases of development right now, but we won't be playing that until 2007 in all likelyhood.

Ace Combat Zero will probably be out late 2005 or sometime in H1 2006......... a next-gen AC game will have to take some time...... remember the first AC game for PS2, AC4, was not released until well over a year after PS2 came out in Japan... so there's no way a PS3 AC game would be seen so soon, as I said...

Interesting... are we getting the prequel storywise to AC5? Wasn't the war mentioned in the storylines called the Belkan war?

"Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War will take place 15 years prior to Ace Combat 5. The player takes the role of a mercenary that has been hired by the government of Ustio, which has suddenly been raided without warning by the Principality of Belka."
