Action RPGs. What do you recommend?

First off, I don't have a PS2 anymore (sold it a while back). Just an Xbox and Gamecube

I have played both the Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance games. My wife loves playing these types of games with me and she wants another one to go through.

What, if any, good ones have come out within the past year or so. Was that X-Men game any good? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Multiplayer ARPGs? I'd suggest...

-Phantasy Star Online Episode I&II
-Final Fantasy: Crystal Cronicles (the GBA factor may be hurdle)
-The Legend of Zelda: Four Sword Adventures (ditto)
-X-Men Legends

Champions of Norrath (not for online play though)

I don't have a PS2 (mentioned it in the original post) :)

Oh and I played Champions of Norrath, both off and online. It was mega buggy online :(

If you are willing to play a good single player ARPG, try Gothic 2 for the PC, it redefines exploration.

PSO is actually a really good one to play side-by-side, IMO. it's split-screen multi, though, and requires two memory cards (one for each player.)

i had surprising fun playing it offline with BenT.

Is it really in the same vein of game as BG : DA? Because my wife is kinda picky.

It's more like Diablo with clunky controls.

I would recommend you get a PS2 and Champions of Norrath, since it's the spiritual sequel to the console Baldur's Gate.

I really can't think of too many aRPGs, let alone multiplayer ones, outside of the PS2. Even WITH the PS2 factored in, it's a pretty small sub-genre.

I think X-Men Legends would be your best bet. She may not like the perspective or dynamics of PSO, FFCC or Zelda, they're all pretty different.

Oh no. Definitely not buying a PS2. Already had one, don't want another one.

There's a game for the Xbox called Dungeons and Dragons: Heroes. It's probably not as good as either Baldur's Gate game but it does support 4 players and it's pretty fun. It's a lot like Champions of Norrath, actually.

Definately worth $20 if you can find it somewhere. My friends and I play these games all the time and we enjoyed it. We're working on Norrath 2 now and I've already got X-men lined up on Xbox.

Pick up fable if you can find it cheap. Its fun but is suppose to be short. If youre like me and take your time with what you play then it should last you a decent amont of time.

oops-I Forgot to mention Sudeki. Its 20 dollars most everywhere now. Not the greatest game for the genre from what I've heard, but the price isn't too bad so give it a shot. I've got the game but its next in line to play after I finish Fable.

Played that. D&D Heroes was good.

I don't think either of those are multiplayer. I only wanted same screen multiplayer action RPGs.
