Speaking of addiction, I'd say meta-posting is the most severe form of addiction. Currentlz we have three meta-discussions on the off-topic front, i.e. posts discussing posting in GAF.

Quality > Quantity.

It also helps if you have a schtick. (ie. I am both the Completely Hopeless with Women Guy, and the leader of the small GAF MMA Crew)

Having a memorable avatar helps a lot. I always remember Mama Smurf, cause #1 Wesley kicks ass, and #2 See #1.

You're right on the quality thing. My posts are fine, but they're not really good ones to get noticed like White Man's are for example.

But it's a lot of things really. The quality thing, the schtick thing, the fact that I'm not a complete twat, I'm not a girl, I don't make many topics, I don't speak to anyone from here in a chat or on AIM or whatever, I get the occasional laugh but I'm not one of the funnier posters...plus I changed my name with the forum change.

This isn't something that overly bothers me BTW, I'd prefer to be slightly obscure rather than be most of those things (and those it'd be good to be I can't just change, like being funny or top quality).

It wouldn't bother me too, but sometimes I feel invisible. One time I made a post, and about 10 posts down someone said "good point, Eminem", and I was like come ON!

I am the same, except for the complete twat part. People know me for being a complete twat, that is my schtick.
Be a complete twat and be known or be a nice guy an be invisible? I think I made the wrong choice.

Jesus. I use the school computer lab to do my paper, fearing that I'd just be distracted at home, and here I am on GAF. It can't be helped.

I'd like to think that my posts are still quality, however efficiently I make them.

I think someone posted the link the last time we had a thread like this. You certainly can't seem to get there from the main forum page as a lot of those member stats stuff are turned off or just nonexistent.

I think my schtick is quickly becoming the expert on all affairs regarding Pixar and Disney, as both singular entities and their relationship. Then comes general TV and movie stuff, which is largely what I follow around here.

I haven't posted too much on this latest edition of GA. I'm at: 150 (0.84 posts per day). Just before the last crash I had around 3000 posts, and fairly prominent around here. Those were the days. :rolleyes:
