Afterglow Live - Sarah McLachlan = Rocks

While her studio releases are obviously stellar works, i think her true brilliance as an artists really comes through on her live albums. Not only is each performance of a song different, but its in such a way that it seems entirely new.

Which is why owning both Mirrorball (amazing fucking cd) and Afterglow Live are sort of essential if you like her work. Mirrorball does a better job covering her early years since its not confined to the work of one cd. However, Afterglow Live has a few versions of old favorites that also appear on Mirrorball, but sound vastly different.

ive head a lot of...well not complaints but people simply noticing that Afterglow was a different direction than Surfacing, but I think that was a smart move on her part. For those who felt the cd was too mellow by comparison, Afterglow Live does a great job spicing these pieces up.

The set also comes with a dvd with the live concert, behind the secens, all that.

Amazing stuff.
