Been playing the game a lot this week. PsS5 owners are in for a treat!
What's the gameplay like? Are you building the cities up and have gods on your side to fight other settlements?

I thought of populus for some reason after watching the trailer

I don't know if you have ever played an RTS or Age of Empires, but you build a base, not a city, it's only combat based. So you have a resource collector unit and you collect food, wood, gold, and favor of the gods in various ways. You then use those resources to construct buildings to expand how many units you can build, what types of units you can build, and improvements to units, resource collection and buildings. You then "age up" which is just a different term for moving to the next tier of units, buildings and upgrades with the ultimate goal to defeat your opponent. It is entirely combat focused. You and your opponent are building armies in an attempted to destroy the other's base.

Nice. So a standard RTS like game. Looks like a really good PS portal game

Maybe, although I don't think PS Portal games generally support touchscreen play outside of gestures. So if you use your Portal for kickback play, enjoy! But if precision RTS play is important to you, you're only going to get the console interface experience.

It's the same genre as Populus yes. The basic gameplay is that you use villagers to gather resources and spend then to construct units and buildings, so that you can destroy your opponents units and buildings.

There are 4 (soon 5) civilisations to choose and then many major/minor gods within them that give you powers and affect how you play. The gods themselves don't appear in battles.

I'd highly recommend it to anyone who likes real time strategy.
On Xbox or pc bro?

Technically this is a double dip for me as the original pc disc is still in my ps5.
On PC, still have the disk of the original but hasn't played it in about 18 years.

Awesome game. Second-best thing Ensemble have ever done and one of the GOAT RTS games. I don't know if I would even want to play it with a controller but it's awesome that Playstation people get a chance to play it.

No need. Like the Xbox version, you have the option of plugging in a KB&M to the PS5.

I used to be big into RTS when I was a kid.

Age of Mythology, Age of Empires, Seven Kingdoms, Rise of Nations.

I might pick this up at some point and might do Age of Empires too.

They should be better marketing the KBM support and Sony again should have an officially licensed KBM (not even just so people buy it, but to acknowledge the support is there).

Yeah and I love it. The premium version is worth getting without early access so it's a nice bonus to have.
Many people say negative things about Advanced Access. I honestly don't care that much. It nice to have when it's a game you really wanna play.
I mean people buy RTX 50 cards for over 4000-5000 bucks which are worth 2000 bucks, so i think the extra 25 dollars isn't that much, right?

I remember infinite warfare ultimate edition came with the COD4 remastered and I think COD4 campaign was playable like 2 Weeks early and maybe the infinite warfare campaign a few days early too. Was really nice to play them.
