At this point they are probably just adding the characters that will sell and continue to sell costumes for. Im sure we will get 1 or 2 obscure characters but they should be playing it safe from a business standpoint.
There's no one it "should" have been. It's whoever they want to do.
If you mean this in the gameplay sense, as in how much health he has, you're going to be disappointment.
Akuma has always been a glass cannon.

What? Daigo barely played Akuma at all. Tokido, Eta and then later Infiltration played him.
Unless this is just some random reference to all of the crying after the Akuma nerfs, where he was behind Ryu in the "shoto clone" war or something.
A friend of mine is too lazy to bother learning how to play the game. His excuse is because there's no Sagat. Having Sagat won't suddenly teach you the fundamentals, and he relied way too much on Sagat's ultra (used to be wakeup non stop) to actually do anything in SF4. With that gone, I can't see him doing much in SF5 with him, once he's added in the summer or fall of 2017.

Probably means that Daigo is second best Ryu and Tokido is the best Ryu. Now since Akuma is coming Tokido will drop Ryu for Akuma and now Daigo is the best Ryu. Or atleast this is how I understood that post.

Nah, spread them out. As mentioned before, we have more than enough SFII guys for the time being. Adding 2 or so per season would suffice. We don't need an entire season of SFII characters.

You're sick.. I love my shotos. But we don't need another USF4.
Relax, there's still PSX/Capcom Cup for a big reveal and Akuma is likely the first of more characters to be revealed for next year.
Also, I don't get the shoto complains, we have Alex, Guile, Urien, Gief, Dhalsim, Mika, Cammy, Ibuki, Juri, Laura, Rashid, FANG, Bison, Necalli and even Karin.
Not even taking into consideration that ryu and ken play more different than they ever have, and Akuma is likely to continue that trend.

Excited for Akuma and the new stage, also more shotos please, SFV lacks shoto characters. Command grab characters are lame and there are many in SFV.

It's shin akuma so my guess is that he's going to be a mix between Oni and Akuma. Oni wasn't a master of all trades, glass cannon character, so he's easier to differentiate and balance.
