slay. all really good picks.

I'd also like to throw out:

Sigur Rós: Agaetis Byrjun

I'm gonna be one of the only weirdos with this opinion but I still absolutely love "Melody A.M." from beginning to end. It's one of the dozen or so albums that personifys my college years and because of that it'll always hold a special place in my heart.

It's on my shortlist of albums to track down if or when I ever decide to dip my toe into the vinyl pool.

Edit: The album is from 2001 so it's not quite two decades (a little under 16 years) old but dammit it's important to me so I'm using it anyway.

Great choices. Would love both on vinyl.

Shout out to OPs PJ Harvey mention. Didn't care for it when it came out but now its the only one of her albums (and some Is This Desire) I can listen to.
Nah bro, she has so much good stuff! Check out Uh Huh Her:

PJ Harvey - Who The Fuck?

You can't straighten my curls,"

:p

That riff is glorious.
I came into the thread to say "Homework" by Daft Punk

Shame what happened to them, that first record is raw man. I remember when they first started playing live, they'd purposely have a loose connection on some of their cables to give that super distorted, fuzzy sound, so so good.

Their other stuff it's fine (some of it incredible) but a lot of it feels so insubstantial in comparison.

From 3 decades ago but I still think it falls into this category.

Probably one of the most iconic U2 albums and one which I still listen to at least once a week.

The Joshua Tree is a classic. Love basically all the songs on it. But it's certainly aged, definitely an album of its time. I personally wouldn't call it "fresh" tbh.

Though if we're talking U2 then Zooropa is a strange, interesting and fresh album even today. The title track in particular is a production marvel; the "third act" of it still gives me goosebumps.

Bish loves my games!
I keeping with the Bristol scene (Massive Attack, Portishead) I'll say Trickye. Maxinquaye. Still dope as ever.

Tricky - Pre Millennium Tension

Tricky - Christiansands

I listened to so much trip-hop as a stoner teen, I was just knee deep in it as a sound. Also, Martina Topley-Bird is the bomb.

Yes!
Surprised there's no London Calling here by the Clash. Holds up incredibly well.

Soundgarden - Superunknown

Can't believe it's been 23 years, still sounds fresh.

Eh. I like that album (even if it is one of myeast favorite MM albums) but something about it sounds "old" and out of place today. I think it's the production values and reverb abuse.

If you had said The Moon and Antarctica I might have agreed.

Was going to say the same thing. I actually turned my brother onto TMaA last year because we were going to go see Modest Mouse play live, and when I later started talking about their new album on the way to the show, he thought I was talking about TMaA because of how fresh it sounded.

That said, it's not quite two decades old yet.

Wipeout 2097 Soundtrack/Wipeout 2097 (Audio tracks):

Standouts:
Fluke - Atom Bomb
The Prodigy - Firestarter (Instrumental)
The Chemical Brothers - Loops of Fury

Wow, totally forgot about some great movie soundtracks from the early to mid-90's.

Spawn was a case where the soundtrack absolutely outshines the writing, acting and cinematography.

You guys have excellent taste. These are either my favourite albums or ones I remember that I never got round to picking up.

Someone recommended me a starting point for Nas. Illmatic? Or something else?
