Been waiting for this ever since they've confirmed they're working on a second one. First one was great. And I'm not even a big horror guy.

Oh I can't wait to be all helpless and hiding in places. That monster might be wet and scary, but I can hide with the best of them. Squeeze myself into tight places and hold my breath. Think happy thoughts and just wait. After a long week of work that's exactly how I want to unwind.

sick it's on the aliens movie location planet right?
the OG game was never good, the graphics and atmosphere though...

I'm interested to see what they do with this, but I think they'll need to do more than just hide and seek next time. I had fun with the first game and finished it, but it ran out of steam after 15 hours in my opinion and I think it hurt the experience a bit going on for 20+ hours. I'm sure it would have left a better lasting impression on me if it had been a bit shorter, or had at least introduced more mechanics to keep things more interesting.

Still, I love the Alien franchise so I'll probably get it somewhere down the line.

Never really got into Isolation, played it for a total of 7 hours back in 2016 before I lost interest. I seem to recall transitions to video cut-scenes being especially jarring on PC.
Let's install it and try again.

Fantastic news.
I have yet to finish the first.
I love it but unfortunately I stink at it, I have real trouble predicting the Aliens erratic nature, (which is the whole point I know) so making progress became rather sluggish.
There's easier difficulties but I think they're missing the point of the whole experience.

It's only hard during the 1st half man, when the 2nd half starts (I'm going to avoid spoilers) it almost becomes this :

just try to endure the 1st half 😉

The game gets a lot more manageable if you rely less on the motion tracker and more on your ears.
You can hear the alien long before the tracker beeps. And it's more consistent, especially in higher difficulties.

Play it like a Thief game (the good ones) and you'll get farther quicker.

Exploring the surface in the rain? I assume it's going to be a colony of some sort since there are going to be save stations?

Not against this idea at all, but it will be more tricky to design rather than station interiors.

The San Cristobal Medical Center is the true filter of the game. The creature is finally let off to roam and you don't have the defensive fire tools to fend it off.
Once you get the Molotov Cocktail, the difficulty goes down a bit.

Happy Alien Day indeed. Seems they'll take the Aliens route now, interesting, hope they don't make it too actiony and they'll stick to the 1st one's survival style.
