Just in case if you were unsure:

If you were worried that you would only be able to see the PS5 reveal in 1080p, you’ll be cheered to know that you’ll be able to watch them all in pristine 4K resolution once the presentation has ended.

Addressing the matter via the Official PlayStation Blog, Sid Shuman who heads up global content communications for PlayStation, confirmed that once the show has ended, 4K streams of each video will be available after the show via YouTube.

You can catch his comments below.

After being delayed from its original June 4 date to this Thursday on June 11, the public will at last get a glimpse of the first games for PlayStation 5.

We. Cannot. Wait.

When have you seen a AAA SONY title (1st party) running at 60 fps this gen?

Pretty dang sure a few Sony E3's in the past ran at 60fps. I've watched every conferance live since 2008. The weird thing is, they feel like a live news broadcast, makes it feel more "live" you know 😂

Doesn't mean they can't now, but your implication is likely right, sadly.

But to answer that question, definitely some new ones and remasters and Pro versions. TLOU:R, God of War, Gravity Rush 1&2, Gran Turismo Sport, Tearaway Unfolded, Uncharted 4 MP, etc.

4K30 or 4K60, that's the real question.

You mean 900p @ 25fps in some games. Hopefully 1080p as standard with proper 30fps lock. Expecting more is basically being naive.

24fps helps with their cinematic single player experiences /s

Man i remember those threads on neogaf back in day when people couldn't see difference between SD and 720p when PS3 came out. Around the same time when people still believed you can do just as good on pad playing multiplayer games.

A lot of wild theories.

This is supposed to be next gen though. Personally i don't care at ll (except for some type of games like fighters/racing) but i wouldn't blame the people for being disappointed if they expected 60fps to be the norm next gen.

It’s SONY. They are going to prioritize looks over fps. Book it.

This gen didnt exactly prioritize framerate over last gen other than the usual (FPS games mostly)
And last gen didnt prioritize 60fps over the following gen despite the leap in tech.

the reason is because graphics sell and most AAA aim for those bells and whistles.

Good. Many ISPs are saturated with this pandemic so to ensure a proper stream, just aim for 1080p. Then you can watch uploaded video at a better quality.

I mean you'd have to be incredibly dumb and ignorant not to realize that they would put up highest quality asset trailer up for viewing once the stream/announcements are made. Lol. That's a no brainer. Can't believe people needed clarification. Clown fucking world.

Its always been the case. Idk how we've gotten so low with the warring bs that even this was used as an argument against the ps5.

really? I mean, this time only the "majority" of trailers will receive a 4K upload, so not all will be uploaded in 4K. Do they usually upload all in 4K? because this time, they will definitely not.

Don't remember but I'm sure it'll probably be AA or indies that dont. Insignificant games, Horizon 2, Spiderman 2, or whatever big games they show most likely will.

I mean lets be honest. Is anyone expecting 1080p/30fps next gen?

As long as the bitrate is high and we can get them outside of Youtube... I remember last gen there was a site and a guy who published them.
B Blimblim is who you're likely thinking of. Not sure if he still browses Gaf.

Gamersyde is the site that uploads direct feed & higher resolution videos, some even at higher bitrates.

Although recently Sony has been rather stingy with sending out higher bitrate trailers to game sites and just settles with dumping everything on YouTube.

and water is wet, guess the confirmation is nice. I always assumed they would, they normally do.

I’m so confused about the uproar.. this is they way it’s always been, nothing new here.
I thought plenty of past game shows were done in 4k live?

Not personally bothered by this... but I feel like for instance I watched E3 Live in 4k for at least the last 2 years.

People need the controversy. We have the best of both worlds here.

Because of saturation and bandwidth across the globe we got 1080. After its over those with 4k can watch it like its going to look, sort of. It will look even better locally at 4k.

They will be accurately presenting power of next gen consoles.

Later on they will upscale that 1080p@30fps 25fps to 4k so you can watch on your 4k how 1080p@30fps 25fps gameplay looks like

Good!

I love me some cinematic action games.
Keep churning them out Sony!

So does it mean that I can watch the conference live... then watch all the 4k60fps goodness AGAIN... and then watch 10x videos from DF explaining those videos AGAIN???

Hype overload.

Edit. /sarcasm
