Microsoft: ROG Xbox Ally Will Play All Games Available For PC – Including PlayStation’s Games

Honestly, you have an unhealthy obsession...🙃

First, I would recommend you understand what the argument was about and then reconsider. But this obsession and constant need you have to contradict any advantage of the Xbox ecosystem and anyone who highlights it doesn't let you see beyond that.

Look, I have a standard RoG Ally. The amount I've spent on games to play on it is ZERO. Between Game Pass U, compatibility, PlayAnywhere, Xcloud... the savings have more than offset the price paid for the hardware.

I'm playing on two different devices, which complement each other and offer different experiences for just one payment and with tons of ways to save... Now tell me that decision is worse and less logical than which prefer paying €70-80 for these games to play on a single device... 🙇
It's you who has difficulty following what's being said it seems. You're still not getting the fact that Gamepass U costs you $240 at RRP. This is where you jump in and say but I can get a discount for $144 or whatever the crap you pay is but again a lot of people do the same for $70 games. They don't buy at full price and they own the game forever/don't lose access. If they wanted cheap rentals that you seem to think are free/"zero spend" they can also try things like gamefly to get almost any game or even PS+ which again is both "free" according to your crazy logic. They only paid $399 for their hardware instead of $900. Rejoice!

LOL. We were talking about preferable situations depending on each person's needs and circumstances... and whether you like to hear it or accept it, given the multi-device benefits of the Xbox ecosystem and GamePass, offsetting the cost of a Handheld is easy from the moment you enjoy the experience on two different devices that offer different experiences by paying only once (either GamePass or the price of the game). The other option is to pay €70-80 for those games and play them on just one device. If you want other game device and play the same games you need to play it's cost.... and buy these games one more time.

Again, it's enough for me that the rest of the people who answered understood the situation and what was being said. Probably because those people don't have your obsession and need to respond to anyone who dares to highlight any advantage of being a user of the Xbox ecosystem. 😉

I'm sure you love to turn every post into some xbox marketing material but my point was very easy to understand:

Paying $900 but not having to pay for those games and future ones... VS... paying $70 for each game but saving on hardware 🤔
Are you suggesting spending $900 then pirating? Because you're paying for those games regardless and even ones you might not have any interest in.
In fact you talking about other people understanding is funny. Are you in their heads? You just have a like from Topher on that post and no other replies and he literally pointed out the same thing about your post that I did:
Well....paying for subscription instead of paying for each title separately,

So what makes my reply to you pointing out the exact same thing so special for you to get so worked up about it and lose your reading comprehension skills?

Your point is simply your obsession with any comment or impression that sounds like praise for Xbox... 😉

And no, it's not marketing, it's the reality of the advantages offered by the multidevice Xbox ecosystem, whether you like it or not.

Obsession

LOL. Of course, my friend, Topher understood that I was referring to pirating games to offset the cost of the Handheld, just like you... 🤣🤣🤣

Well your own interpretation is weird. Even if you were to assume that those who pay $900 do not go on to buy any games outside of their sub they would still be paying $200-240 per year for access. I know your own eagerness to "activate" everything related to Xbox, whatever the fuck that means, but what you're suggesting is ridiculous even for you. Before you start talking about "discounts/Loopholes" and all this other garbage they apply to the "$70" you stated too, not to mention actual rental services like gamefly where you have a bigger selection of games.
What's funny about this is, same dudes that say gamepass is the best value in gaming compared to $70 games are the same dudes also using gamefly. That's like what, 5-6 games that you can actually OWN if you paid full price. You can even own more if you wait for sales.

No, he corrected your absurd idea that you don't pay anything for games by saying "well you pay for the sub". I on the other hand asked you if you were alluding to piracy and pointed out that if you're not you are paying for said games through the "$200-240" per year sub regardless, instead of the "$70" games.

No, unlike you, he understood what I meant when I said I didn't pay to play games on my Rog Ally because it doesn't incur any extra costs, since it's a multi-device ecosystem. There's no extra cost for play on other new, complementary - different experiencie device and therefore you are amortizing its cost.

But you can continue whatever you want and twist how your unhealthy obsession with not recognizing or accepting anything XBOX. It's just another day at the office, like demigod demigod emojis. 😅

As a matter of fact - the current handhelds do. If that's one's preference, they can install and Playnite to:
  1. Set up their handheld device to show all their games across different platforms in one place (Steam, Epic, Gog, MS, Game Pass, Humble, etc.)
  2. Boot directly into gaming mode.
It is certainly possible.

And because it's open-source and has plugins, you also have customization options on top of it - which the fixed Xbox UI will not have. You can add themes and customize settings to truly make it how you like your game library to appear.
The last thing I want to do on a handheld is install apps so I can configure things. I'm only considering one because of the xbox experience that the Ally X will have.

I promise I haven't kept up with the new cycle on this and this is an honest question

What does it do "way more" to convince people to buy it?

And please anyone can answer this
There's too many articles on this for me to believe that you are making an objective effort to see the value. And you don't have to.
