Almost all of the actors that feature in the Zombies crew in Black Ops 6 have pulled out of working over the lack of AI protections in their contracts

No company in their right mind is going to pay someone $200,000+ a year to perform a task a billion times slower than a computer can do it. The fact that they have to do 200% twitter zooms specifically pointing out the minor errors of AI that is so early it hasn't even reached the MS DOS phase phase of its development tells you all you need to know.

Playing whack-a-mole trying ban AI, automation and the like is futile. And if you succeed it simply means that other nations will outcompete you. The common sense thing to do is to improve social safety nets and potentially UBI. It’s not ideal but it is what will become necessary.

Good luck getting America to accept a larger social security mechanism to help out all of those who lose their jobs to AI. Short sightedness is going to cause a lot of problems… again.

What do you do for a living?

Oh boy. Here we go.

Assist in vice industry consultation and legal documents with a friend in Vegas.
Was working in a wood cutting factory in a slow time where they were going to train me to program a robot but then the company was about to downsize and I knew they were on the verge of closing. So I left. Didn't like the management anyway.
Got another down time coming for the consultancy so I just started a job as a receptionist at a dentist office. Practitioner offered to help me go to school for dentistry if I was interested in taking a bigger role.
Got offers to learn and do plumbing, sell life insurance, or do remote work data entry. Probably won't take them but considering it.
Stocks.
Flipping.
Light gambling.

I put a lot of money back and I hardly touch it. I don't put myself in debt unless I absolutely have to. I do a lot of things to make money. Some more involving than others. But I explore options. Some will be heavily impacted by AI. Others won't. Not any time soon. Fully prepared to get really fit and do porn if need be. I've also dabbled in content creation with a friend. But I don't have tits so I'm really working on my personality.

There’s a vast chasm between smart AI use (procedural animations, AI generation as a mood board basis, landscape generation) and low quality AI slop.

CoD case is the latter, they are saving buck on the most expensive franchise in gaming and it’s never a good trajectory for a product pf any kind.

I dont really see people championing AI, just accepting that it exists and it can do things only a human could do until very recently.
The shock is that it is in creative industries - which most people thought would be the last bastion of human accomplishment.

Your enterprise spirit is inspirational.

All of that sounds exhausting.

Oh, the creative industries will carry on. There will always be a demand for human made entertainment. But people in middle management jobs where they spend all their time at a computer shifting numbers about - they're irretrievably fucked. White collar in general is going to be decimated by AI.

I see your point. However, could we not argue that AI will also impact countries as it could cause mass unemployment?
It's not a matter of could it cause mass unemployment. The question is when?

Some people like to watch the world burn.. .. I am one of them.

I do not mind AI. let it take over. Let those people go do an actual hard working job and let development costs go down and faster development. enough of these snowflakes.
