It should, but if you're building a gaming PC I would get an AGP version 6600 GT or X700 XT.

IMO, I wouldn't bother with building/buying a new PC until the whole PCIe thing gets sorted out. Buy a PC now with an AGP slot, AGP ends up becoming obsolete, you want to upgrade, but now you have to buy a new motherboard as well!

IMO, slow your roll. Wait until Jan 2006.

I have a system thats basically the same, only with an Athlon 64 instead of a p4. Runs HL2 almost flawlessly, Doom 3 runs very well also. So you'll be fine until games running the unreal 3.0 engine start coming out in 2006.

Waiting till 2006 might be a good idea, but it depends on what kinda comp you have now and how badly you want to play the games that are out right now. Theres really no "best" time to buy a comp. If you end up waiting, by the time you're eventually ready to buy again, there will be something else worth waiting for, and so on. Those prices you listed aren't too bad, especially for canadian, so personally I would go for it.

Heres a thought for ya on the AGP cards. The price of the X800's will go down like crazy once PCIe starts picking up around feb or march. I personaly am waiting to get a good deal on one of those cards.

As for the specs i'm not to keen on Intel's anymore, but if its a 64bit chip then good, if not go amd as some of the coolest 64bit upgrades in games have gome from the AMD mod making community.

Specs i have:

AMD 64 3200 over clocked to 2.8ghz
1gb of pc 2100 ram (someone got some 3200 ram they dont want?)
and a R 9600xt

I run HL2 at 1240by1024 all on high [NO AA OR AF ='(] with 30 fps locked down tight.

So all in all good choices on your specs. Not bad at all though.
