....but maybe we have a few veterinarians?

My cat has little red things in its fur. I just noticed a couple. I think they're called "mites". Either way, they can't be good.

Cause for immediate concern? Do I have to bathe him? etc.

I'm no vet... But get your your cat to the vet asap. Sounds like it is a tick. Is it just in the fur, or under your cat's skin? If it is a tick(s)... They can get fatal blood diseases from them.

In the fur. I can't see under my cat's skin, sir.

I can't think of any vet that would be open right now. And I'm not sure if the ER would mind treating my cat. So it's basically on me.

Red things in the fur... It may be flea poop. Yes, flea poop is actually little red balls because they consume blood and produce it as excrement.

Hhhmmm. Well, If it's just mites... I'd definitely give him/her a bath, and then to the vet in the morning. I freak out about my cats though.

My one cat boo (r.i.p. little guy) had ear mites at one point, and they drove him nuts.

The red things were moving. Unless... could be some sort of mite/poop hybrid.

My family's cat had those, and she managed to rip her ear open bad scratching at them. It took quite some time of ointments and other medical drops to rid her of the mites and the wounds.

Moving, you say? Yikes, ok maybe the fleas were exposed to radiation and now poop out toxic-zombie poop that is slowly killing your cat.

Either way, I'd do what the others suggested and take it to a vet.

No shit. they definitely put up a fight. Took us forever to get rid of them also. Boo was an indoor cat too. Always wondered how he got them.
