I have a gamecube( I only brought it so i could play the zoids game. Bad decision). Everyone is telling me i should own RE4 but i am waiting for the PS2 version in the dim hope they will have Dante as a playable character. That and not a big fan of the GC controller.

Am I wrong in this line of thinking?

Well, if you don't have a GC, just a PS2, and for some reason there really is nothing you're interested in on GC (which is a shame, considering the ammount of quality games for low prices), then PS2 is the way to go I guess. I do feel bad for them though, never playing the incredible GC version.

And I'd also like to remind you that he says more "features" that 99.9999% means that it doesn't include Dante.

Given, a lot of people wouldn't mind hightiming and juggling some Ganados to death Dante style, but that's something that will take a lot of effor to properly implement and I don't see Capcom doing that. The mere idea to even think of it is why you're getting so much backlash dude.

If it helps, Atlus is bringing Princess Crown to the PSP later this year... in Japan. Which means WD probably won't be able to get that license, but, since it is Atlus, there's a chance Atlus USA will localize it for 2006. That's still a pretty WD-esque wait; certainly enough to keep you jiggling for beads.
