AMA about One Piece

Hit #300 a while ago. Had doubts about Franky, but he really grew on me and now I can't imagine it without him, speedos and all. This part especially could do with a rewatch because of how much foreshadowing there is early on, but the closer to the end the timeline falls into place and it all comes together nicely.

I hope to see the Straw Hats visiting Impel Down after hearing about it. Cutty Flam Cutty Flam you previously have talked about the soundtrack and how it fit some scenes extraordinarily, elevating them further. Would you say that the theme playing for the first time while Franky torches the blueprints is one such scene? Is Franky your favorite character in One Piece? Those are questions for the AMA.

Hell yeah. Right on, Fushitsusha. If you’ve hit eps #300 a while back then you must really close to something extraordinary I’ll bet. Seeing something of that nature if you haven’t already

Countless wild, turbulent, and very entertaining episodes to come. Where you are at now, you have only just begun to climb up the roller coaster, as far as the story goes

As for the soundtrack, definitely. There are so many scenes to name that struck me as near perfect and I always thought that soundtrack had much to do with it. Not all to do with it, the writing and story is paramount but the soundtrack compliments it all beautifully. There are some songs, well I guess technically they're instrumentals, but some that fit the moment so amazingly well that I simply have to congratulate those working at Toei Animation for having such impeccable vision. Whoever is calling these shots, directing and producing the episodes and contributing to all of the anime; I think they deserve awards. Her is something you and perhaps others may find interesting, Fushitsusha Fushitsusha . There is a theme that I will show via youtube link at the end of this post that I think demonstrates, sonically, just how powerful and serious Luffy can be when what is dear to him is on the line. Fitting for the prowess and the fear the Pirate King can impose against anyone. An opponent takes on Luffy, this song represents the foolishness of that exact choice and mistake / what exactly, they're up against

Tough question for me to answer. To name my favorite? Hmm... I have like twenty favorites hahaha. But I will say this: Franky is the character I was most excited to see when I finally reached the episode where he was introduced in the anime. I had spoiled a handful of details pertaining to One Piece before I had even watched episode #1 for the very first time, due to my kind of funny kind of ridiculous mistake of accidentally watching the One Piece movie, One Piece: Heart of Gold, thinking it was the very first episode of One Piece lol. I knew from that, and accidentally seeing a picture as well, a little bit more than I should have. But it didn't really take away anything. I was just as excited the moment I saw Franky, and it only grew from there. I think he's very high on my favorite characters list for several reasons. I'll go into detail a bit more as to why once you get a little bit further ahead. I typically want to share much more in this thread, but I'm extremely cautious in the way of trying not to overstep and possibly spoil some kind of detail that may be substantial much later on

Franky is 100% in my top 20 favorite One Piece characters, and almost definitely in my top 8 depending on how I measure. You probably know by now, One Piece can kind of shift things in regards to what you once thought. For example, I used to think Nami was just a bitch lol now I see her in a completely, completely different light on so many levels. Levels upon levels upon levels. But Franky, no doubt he is on my top 10 list, very likely I can say he is a top 8 character for me. Where exactly he lands, I would have to think long and hard about all the characters and make my decision

Fushitsusha Fushitsusha below is the track that can and will give glimpse, into the sheer magnitude of what Luffy is capable of

Impel down arc was one of my favorite ARC in the series, not gonna lie I teared up by the end of it. Enjoy! Nakama!

Several questions that I was pondering a bit ago after watching this vid

This tells us something about Chef Zeff AKA Owner Zeff, that he is the only man to come back alive from the Grand Line according to Don Krieg. This makes me wonder a few things after having heard Krieg say this:

1. Don Krieg said "I know you're the only man who's come back alive from the Grand Line" to Chef Zeff so that must mean either Kreig was either
A) Mistaken and temporarily forgot about Gol D. Roger and his pirate crew
B) Somehow never heard of Gol D. Roger but that is nearly impossible, if not impossible for a pirate I would think
2. Was Chef Zeff a member of Gol D. Roger's crew at some point?
3. It could be that Owner Zeff was simply strong enough to return alive and is a notorious pirate. Krieg is demanding his journal of his voyage so Zeff might have gone further than most. How far we do not know. But it must have been far enough to have caused Don Krieg to confront Chef Zeff and his entire crew at the sea restaurant Beratie

It's a give-in that Zeff must have been a feared pirate back in his day; simply look to Sanji. His strength gives evidence to that. But how strong and how capable of a pirate was Zeff before his dreams were passed down to his son, Sanji? Interesting to think about

Cutty Flam Cutty Flam I got into One piece late and has read about half way through. I've felt like Oda has so far been good with fights in that he has explanations for why characters are resistant to certain attacks and do well against certain enemies. But this one always stood out like a sore thumb:

How tho? Whats the explanation for him withstanding that three times in a row?

I think it all goes back to the tihe very end of Drum Island, when Dr. Kureha had mentioned something very important. This is what I think can be attributed to him prevailing

Listen in at 1:46 -- I believe that explains why and is the correct answer. But at the same time, we don't know as much as we'd like to find a concrete answer. But my thinking is this:

Luffy was actually capable of sustaining more damage as shown a bit later. That's the kind of flame Monkey D. Luffy has, it's only going to be extinguished on his own terms. Luffy told Rob Lucci, "Until I defeat you...I wont drop to the ground ever again" and I think his mind set him apart in this fight. It was enough to devastate, those three hits, but I think Rob Lucci made a crucial mistake in showing mercy to Luffy / not finishing him off with relentless attack. Luffy still had enough in him to finish the fight and willed himself past his enemy. I think those telling him he can't in those flashbacks fueled him

I ended up getting 50 volumes for like $2 a volume so I have no excuse but to read them now, but it was more about the feeling of getting a really good deal lol
Very wise decision, Jill Valentine Jill Valentine , you can't go wrong buying and reading the manga of ONE PIECE. I too plan to have the entire collection one day. That's a spectacular deal, probably the best anyone will find, but the content inside those volumes is much more spectacular still! Start reading those manga books ASAP!!!!!

Usually that amount would likely run the buyer for about $170 minimum but you shaved off $70. Excellent find Jill-san

I had many opportunities to read One Piece or the other major shounen 10+ years ago but I passed on all of them. The closest I got was reading JoJo, mostly the wacky artwork pulled me along but I would say it can get somewhat tiring as it lacks a sense of place or occasion. They encounter a bad guy every so often and weird shit happens, yanno, not to slate anyone who's happy enough with that.

I only ever hit Volume 13-14 of One Piece. There was always lots of "BUT it gets better...". I really can see why it they say that, not that I want to excuse a series feeling like a slight drag for 175 chapters, but it's clear as the Alabasta arc begins moving towards the conclusion that it's the first time there is a sense of "stakes" on the line, in quotations because we know that our heroes will come out the other side.

Of course the crew is mostly developed by this point, which gives it more weight, but with all the actors with their own plans coming against each other, that it's the first real part. So yes, HUGE DISCLAIMER for One Piece; you've got to reach Alabasta Arc, not that I usually think of manga in arcs, but maybe I haven't read enough formulaic shounen.

Not hard to see now why it's considered the best manga. Tezuka is still best though, which I would buy all of if it wasn't out of print or expensive as fuck.

There is a ton to look forward to if you’re on volume 13-14. I’m surprised you know so much about One Piece for where you’re at. I recall you showing us some colored manga and the pages showed something taking place way ahead of where you are now. And you know a bit about the ending of Alabasta despite being, hmm, I think you actually have an entire 10 volumes before reaching the end of that saga. You have a little ways until you reach that Kingdom

Whoever told you that the best comes later, is correct. Those who quit before like ~ episode 330 or volume 46 are not getting a true feel for what One Piece is all about. If you can make it to there, you will understand why this is the world’s best selling manga and perhaps the greatest anime. For me, it is the greatest anime by a long shot. It has inspired me in countless ways—and I must than Oda-sensei and his crew for this unparalleled work
Manga or anime? And are the movies canon?
I love both; they offer a different experience in their own ways. I mainly speak on the anime because I never read anything before the current arc. I’ve watched most of the episodes though, I can attest to those being incredible and well worth the watch

The movies are not cannon. They’re more for fun I think, Eiichiro Oda has worked on some of them, maybe three of the movies? Maybe more. I’ve only seen one of the One Piece films and the one I saw was okay. There are probably way better films than the one I saw. It was called One Piece: Heart of Gold but I’ll hold off on rating it because I actually watched it before even starting the series lmao. It was made around the time the anime was like in the 400s (episodes) I think...I’ll have to watch it again. I’ll probably find myself watching all the movies one day. Definitely want to. I wanted to see One Piece: Stampede in theaters but none of them near me were showing it for some reason...

If you’ve never read or watched One Piece, I would 100% encourage you to give it a try. Just start it up when you want to relax and try to go through a dozen episodes in a week or two, give it a chance and see what you think

I think some of the recent movies are not canon, but do have some characters that are considered canon

Guess they are like alternate reality type stories

I know that one of the films has a main villain that is canon. I've heard Film: Z, Film: Strong World, Film: Gold, Stampede, and Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island are pretty good

Stampede was great. I haven’t watched the other movies tbh but this one seemed like a fan service. Yo get to see all the characters that have little to no show time in the regular anime. Loved to see smoker and all the others in action.

I saw a picture of it and seeing all the characters that I saw in the movie, I assumed it had the potential to be a box office monster in Japan. Not sure what the film made but I sort of expected it to be a blockbuster film in Japan at least. The premise of Stampede sounded really fun to me. I might have to make Stampede my first One Piece movie. It turns out that One Piece: Heart of Gold was actually a TV special and not a movie
Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit. Something bad is about to happen...
Whoa... I’m gonna have to read the two or three chapters I have lined up in that case

Thriller... Bark? I'm drawing blank.

What do you think Fushitsusha Fushitsusha -- About
The Straw Hats during the Water 7 saga, Rob Lucci and Kaku and other CP-9 members if you have an opinion, Franky, Luffy’s fight, SOGEKING, and The Thousand Sunny????

I always thought this was the turning point. Not only because of the obvious; because of the Straw Hats declaring war versus the World Govnt. but because I think Franky fortified the crew to succeed on an entirely different level from what we've seen. Adding him to the Mugiwara Pirates, official, it was definitely a turning point in Luffy's adventure. I used to be elated with what Tony Tony Chopper brought with his versatility....And then Franky comes along and totally elevates the crew's standing in a plethora of ways. It almost can't be measured or weighed in, how far his contributions have taken them. I think he's an invaluable crew member necessary for the King of Pirates. Those are my thoughts on Franky in a bit more detail, since you have cleared the third saga from what I can tell

Thriller Bark is excellent. It's actually named after something you may or may not be familiar with. That, and the nature of this arc decided the name I'm almost 100% certain on. The latter half you will simply have to be patient with to find out. Most of Thriller Bark is still very much alive and vivid in my memory, I was all in with that arc, loved it. I believe I rated it a 9.0/10 but I would be willing to stand firm with a 9.2/10 rating for Thriller Bark. I think I'll speak on it much later when you're likely nearing its end. Ceallach Ceallach is an enormous fan of this arc too as she's stated. Enjoy it to its fullest because it definitely can go by in a flash for some

There is one moment by one of the SH Pirates that I thought was fucking amazing. I still can't get over that particular decision in that moment. Thriller Bark, very entertaining arc for me. I might have to revisit it some for a week or so now lol

Zeff wasn’t part of Gol D. Roger’s crew. I thought he might have been but pretty sure he’s just a very tough and capable Captain who managed to survive survive the Grand Line. Could have been allied with another pirate group but who knows besides Oda? There’s not enough to go by. Safe to say that Sanji is as tough as he is in part thanks to Chef Zeff AKA Owner Zeff. I think Don Krieg is just small time and didn’t know what the fuck he was talking about

100% satisfied with the manga and the anime. But you know what man, if the live action show can bring more people to the series I'm all for it. I do kind of worry that the project will flop. The last thing I want is for Oda-sensei to have his work in any way tarnished, but maybe something good will come of this show with actual actors and actresses. Not sure how it could possibly match with the creativity of the manga/anime. If it puts money in Oda's pocket, that's a good thing. Deserves every cent and more imo for what he's given and created

Im hearing some good things, I found a copy of the leaked script let me know if you want a copy

It really comes off as written by someone with a passion for the series, Oda signed off on the script and is a producer and even said he was shocked that the writer knew more than maybe even his staff

Also apparently working with Game of Thrones level budgets ($10m per episode)

I wrote this whole thing off as a bit of a joke, but looking into it this seems like they look like they are doing this right. It could be huge

I'd love if they nailed it and gave a rebirth to One Piece in the west. You and I both know how amazing this could be if they do it right

Wow I was not expecting to hear this. That is certainly the way to go, One Piece has the potential to be the greatest show ever created. If they are really sinking 10 mil /episode then maybe it will turn out respectable. If Oda is in on this, then it should be excellent. I still have my doubts since live acting cannot reach where drawings and animation can, but I'm glad to hear the news that this project will likely succeed

I wonder how they'll condense everything though? One season will cover like 60-100+ episodes depending on the arcs?

Yeah definitely some trimming will need to be done

But an hour episode each will get a 10 hour season. The first season will cover East Blue. You can work out its 17.6 hours for the 53 episodes in the Anime. And not being an Anime, the fights will definitely be shorter. I think its doable for East Blue quite comfortably

A lot of time in East blue is wasted on Syrup Island as well

And yeah eventually when the bigger arcs come I can see it being an arc or saga per season

The writing and faithfulness to the source material look promising at least right now. Obviously so much more has to go right, casting, CGI, direction

That script does look promising, thanks for pointing all this out. Before, I wasn't sure at all but the script is very strong. If the actors and actresses are passionate fans the same then this could be huge. I'll still have to temper my expectations but everything is sort of looking like it will be worth at least checking out. Wonder who they're going going to hire to play Nami and Robin or Boa Hancock? Almost guaranteed that part of their contract will include the agreeing to acquiring the rack of a lifetime via plastic surgery LMFAO

All I have to say about that last bit is

Extreme spoilers

Was listening to the music and looking at the pic in for the video and never realized until now that Marco the Phoenix has actually lost the most out of all the prolific characters tied to Luffy. Lost Thatch. Lost Ace to solo journey where he would seek revenge. His brother Ace defeated and left to rot inside Impel Down. Goes to war, twice, his entire family takes a hit and he loses Ace, he loses his old man, Whiteboard. And then finally, he loses everything in the Payback War....All he has left, is his obligation to protect the territory Whitebeard swore to protect as we have seen him do, as well as protect what remains of Ace's will; to protect Monkey D. Luffy from harm. That's all Marco has left now besides his two old comrades now battling in the massive war taking place at Onigashima. I don't think there has been a pirate who has lost more than Marco the Phoenix

I honestly don't remember this moment, and I recently re-watched the Syrup Village arc not even a month ago lol

Netflix must use a different version of OP, and probably the worst one too--the quality of it isn't even comparable to the presentation Crunchy Roll offers. Netflix's version with the English subtitles is often three seconds behind, sometimes the subtitles never even show up during a line...

I checked out some pictures of his and he looks like he would be a perfect Sanji once the makeup artists do their thing. Dye the hair blonde, have him lose about 8-10 lbs, gain a bit of muscle and he's right where he should be. I don't know any of these actors though, so I can't judge their work in relation to how they might perform when playing the role

Dude, TTOOLL TTOOLL that was a very interesting chapter. Read it a night ago, and I think that you’re right to assume as much

A lot happened fast there in 992 as expected in war. Listing the interesting moments that stuck out to me

-Marco the Phoenix, striking a deal with Perospero / Big Mom Pirates? “To take out the Demons” ?????? What did he mean. Big Mom wants Straw Hat’s head and I bet she wants to betray Kaido so an all out assault w/ the Beast Pirates? This war keeps on getting more and more interesting. When will Marco attack? What does he intend to do and who will he strike first?

-Carrot is heading right towards them (Big Mom Pirates) and will attempt to make use of Sulong to kill Perospero which will avenge Pedro’s sacrifice

-Raizo REVERSES Kaido’s attack intended for him + the other eight samurai and instead deals the damage directly upon Kaido himself. Major damage considering Kaido was aiming to kill obviously

-Duke Dogstorm stabs right through Kaido with his fake / peg leg

Z6LT1dp.jpg

-Master Cat Viper delivers severe scratches to Kaido? Couldn’t quite detect any wound in the drawings

HTkGBOT.jpg

-9 Red Scabbards deliver, actually succeed in delivering a critical blow to Kaido’s midsection

ByW0IK9.jpg

Wonder how severe it was for Kaido? By the looks of his eyes going blank in that pic, they did some serious damage. And it looks to cover most the width of his frontside sort of like the “X” shaped slashed Mihawk once delivered to Roronoa in East Blue. It’s just for fun to analyze, but that blow had to have at least slashed to his fatty tissue if not muscular tissue. Gonna say that particular hit took 1-2% out of Kaido’s stamina to carry on fighting. An excellent blow. But I think it will only enrage him and increase his ferocity

This arc is about to explode now, holy fuck. Kaido is about to go wild like never before

Oden’s disciples are dealing some damage. If I had to guess, maybe they’ve taken 4-5% of this fight into their own hands already. But I think Luffy, Law, Zoro, X-Drake, as well as Marco the Phoenix will soon jump into fight Kaido, and they will have to do the heavy lifting

I think Kaido is about to start claiming limbs, possibly lives... in the next 10-20 chapters to come. From here, there is no doubt. He is about to go on an all out rampage at Onigashima

My friend is begging me to catch up on it so I can tell him if there's any good moments or not. I thought OP has been declining since Thriller Bark and the time skip designs are awful but fuck it. I can dedicate a month of my life to catching up on this manga from November. Last I read Luffy was going to save Ace so I got 10 years to catch up on.

Finished One Piece: Stampede God Enel God Enel thanks for the recommendation; you were right in saying that it’s great. Decided to go with Stampede for my first One Piece movie, and was not disappointed. Very exciting work, this one. And I’ve only seen Stampede, but I can almost say with certainty that it’s the one with the most action by a long shot. Has to be, given the nature of the plot

I liked this one a lot. I knew going in that it’s more for fun and that Oda would never focus too much (completely invest) his efforts into any non-canon works, but this One Piece movie has a lot in it for the fans. I would highly recommend it to fans who are at least past Dressrosa in the manga/anime. Fun enough to watch if you’ve got some time. Ton of action, overall pretty good stuff if you accept the fact that the movies are mainly for fun. There’s no way this particular film could have happened without Eiichiro Oda’s guidance, and you can tell he had his hand in directing the scope towards the right direction here in Stampede. Solid showing, gonna rate it an 8.3/10

Might have to watch another one this week or the next. What’s cool about the One Piece movies is you have the luxury to sort of back off a bit and relax since it’s not canon

Some pics that caught my attention from the film:

Might have to watch another one this week or the next. What’s cool about the One Piece movies is you have the luxury to sort of back off a bit and relax since it’s not canon

Some pics that caught my attention from the film:

I heard it’s the best one but haven’t watched the other movies. One of the things that I honestly disliked is that they went with CGI for the final fight. Otherwise it was great.

I’ll try to bring a more thorough review for each one I watch here ITT, that way if others want to tune in they have a heads up on what to expect

The CGI threw me off a little too, that was an enormous end-battle to the death. But tbh, a lot more detail should have gone into the foe’s final form / design. That’s probably the only thing that sticks out. I wish I would have seen in theaters but it was all in Eng Dub and there wasn’t a theater near me featuring it. Would have been well worth $13.50 admission. Great film

Check out movie 6, Strong World and Film Z.
Thanks, will check them out next. I’ll probably start with the one released earliest and progress up the timeline. I plan on watching them all eventually but the films that are highly acclaimed among the fans will be focused on first. Good call Javthusiast Javthusiast

I’ve heard a lot of praise for Strong World and Film: Z from others. You’re now the first one to recommend to me, One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (movie #6) but I have read that it’s among the best

6 is great, but it is very diffferent in tone to every other One Piece movie. Very dark.

Was directed by Mamoru Hosoda. (original digimon movie, Girl who lept through time, Summer Wars etc.)

I watched it in theater and thought "yeah two 33 year olds watching one piece in a theater with some kids".. Boy I was fucking wrong. There have been a shitload of people as old as I am and a lot of younger people ~20-25 + a "lot of black people" (at least for german standards). The Theater was fucking packed like it' a Marvel Film lol. That's when it hit me how fucking big One Piece is. Yo some guy came to us and started talking about the manga aand theories.. Then I realized that I'm a fucking casual and not deep into the one piece game at all - actually I'm only watching the anime, well I do'nt know for how long?! It must be 15+ years at least.. And most probably I'm gonna watch it till I die or it stops lol

That's incredible. The first anime movie I ever saw in theaters was DBZ: Broly with a bunch of friends. It was a surreal experience. Theater was packed even a few weeks after its release. Everyone in there knew worlds more than I did, I only read the manga, DBZ through DB. But the rest of these guys knew everything to the point where they could enjoy the movie with no complaints. After the film we all gathered outside past the door several feet and they discussed DBZ and DB and the other fifty movies or however many there are like a bunch of savages for a solid 15 minutes at least, probably 20 min. The love for the big time anime movies is understandable now. I didn't get it then. But now I understand. A year later and now that I've watched One Piece: Stampede, I totally understand where they are coming from as hardcore fans. I will probably be doing the same thing a couple years from now when the next One Piece movie drops lol I'm gonna be that random guy that just opens up on a theory out of nowhere hahahaha

This is one of the (if not the) most shocking and disturbing scenes in the entire anime. There have been plenty of attention grabbing cliffhangers, but this one is momentous...

I have some in-depth thoughts on all this, and a few theories to discuss. Below = massive spoilers, a few guesses of mine / theories + an attempt at predicting the circumstances of the following arc to occur after the present one:

Im must be the most catastrophic figure in One Piece. The top of the hierarchy. And likely has powers that make Blackbeard, possibly multiple Yonko chump change is guess in theory. I think there is something needed and then Im might have the potential to destroy at large, the world in One Piece. I think that Im has knowledge of ancient weapons that can destroy the entire planet; but is waiting for something. And in the end, I think that Im is actually Dragon's target. Monkey D. Dragon will be the one challenge Im when the unstoppable swell reaches its pinnacle. I wonder what this Im character is capable of, its power? Im, this sovereign King of the World Government has way too much power. The Five Elders I thought were powerful, the ones with the most powerful when they first appeared shortly after the Alabasta arc I believe it was? To see that they work under someone else was shocking, and even more so is the nature of their superior. Very off character, Im or Imu-sama is one to think about

And in the Levely, they're in "Pangea" Castle, so the name itself indicates to me that the World Government is aiming for one global control. Very ominous way to end off the arc, something horrible took place at the Levely. I cannot say that Sabo is dead, but I think Im has at the very least secured him and has him held hostage somewhere at The Holy Land Mary Geoise. And after the massive WANO Kuni arc concludes, my prediction is that Luffy will be on a warpath to reach Marie Geoise. He's going to travel there, and this will be the start of the greatest war in manga / anime history

But of course, my take is very serious. Still going to be the same One Piece we all love because only Oda is genius in that way and can turn such a serious story into such an unbelievably fun and lovely story the same. But to sum it up, some very heavy themes in the following arcs I'm sure

A special thanks to Javthusiast Javthusiast for the recommendation of One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island

This was actually an excellent watch, a very interesting film, and it's ahead of One Piece: Stampede on my list now. You weren't kidding Jav, this is a very dark film with an alarming, grim plot. I sort of wrote off what you had said when I started it up and began watching lol. The first 44 min in or so, I was like "Huh? This film is kind of going nowhere" and thought maybe you were only hyping the movie up and saying it was 'dark' because you enjoyed it as a kid or something I had guessed. One Piece and that kind of tone are very rare. But the moment Nami got that one nakama of Baron Omatsura drunk--and he started talking about the night of the the storm? Wow, I actually felt uneasy; that was an unsettling scene and it grabbed my attention completely. I was somewhat shocked at how sharp the turn was. Went from standard good old One Piece to horror for a few moments. There have been some disturbing moments in the manga/anime, but nothing quite as terrible as what took place in Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. Nothing, except for that one scene in The Levely, that particular scene gave me chills....

Here are a couple of pics of the movie, I was pretty amused with this exchange lol

This movie was made in 2005 btw, so anyone who has finished the Alabasta saga can watch if they'd like. These One Piece movies are actually kind of neat. They're fun and relaxing watches. And hopefully they continue to make them every few years or so in the future and maybe even invest more into the filmmaking aspects. After watching One Piece: Stampede, I'd say there's potential for these films to gross a billion at the box office worldwide, excluding ticket sales in Japan of course. In Japan alone, One Piece: Stampede made over $5.5 billion. A little more attention to all the brief skirmishes, fights, and villains in general in these One Piece Movies would make all the difference IMO. Then they'd probably be shown in every theater (in the U.S. at least) and not just select ones, I'd imagine

Another thing I particularly enjoyed about One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island is how they let Chopper and other unlikely heroes pull some major weight during the final confrontation

Pretty fun stuff, going to try to pick another one to watch for next week or maybe the week after. Definitely look into these movies if you haven't already, if you're a big fan of OP they're worth checking out

Have to watch the movies now. Lol
I think at the moment the anime is boring as fuck. Everything is so slow. The last two-three episodes I had a feeling that nothing is happening.
Have to watch todays episode lol

It’s a very interesting watch. I suspect that we’ll never see another film quite like it when it comes to One Piece

Haven’t watched many episodes lately, I think I stopped right around the pandemic actually, when production was halted for a while. I figured that the manga will hold me down completely, and I’d allow this chance to save a ton of episodes just like before, for all at once hahaha. I’m going to wait until I have maybe 60-70 episodes then I’m going to see how it takes place in the anime and pick back up again at a leisurely pace. I stopped right at the episode where
Kiroshiro said, “It’s pandemonium!” and slashed
so I think I might have like 25-30 episodes by now that I haven’t seen yet

I feel like they’re stretching it a lot at the moment. And it feels like a drag. Everything is happening so slowly and a lot of people agree.

btw. Do you know where and when zoro lost his third sword? Was it ever revealed?
