NO but call me back when its 40 bucks. I'll bite then. I dont buy that much from Amazon and if you read it doesnt cover Amazon's partners or anything at Zshops.

$40? o_O

You can place an order for a $0.99 item and get free two-day shipping... and this extends for a year with no limits... the price is very good.

This is great for me since I buy everything at Amazon.com, but I expect them to take a huge bath on this.

It must be me, if maybe i was getting more Amazon gift certificates i would buy more from them. If it was 40 bucks i might be more inclined to buy stuff. I need stuff ASAP i dont like waiting for stuff. And yes its a pain in the ass. But lots of things i would buy for 5 bucks more at amazon if i had this program for 40. But thats just me.

I must say yes i know its for people that use amazon a lot, so i guess good for you guys. Wish other places would do this. Damn international shipping i hate it.

This will encourage impulse buys, but I'm not certain that I want to sign up. In order to get my money's worth, I'd pretty much have to make Amazon my exclusive merchant for mass media products, forgoing even brick-and-mortar stores.

uh yeah. I think if I signed up for this I would end up paying more for items at Amazon just to take advantage of my "deal". I don't think I buy from Amazon anywhere near enough to make this a good deal.

My original thought after reading that was "An online buffet?!" $80 a year and $3.99 per meal sounded like a steal.

if you do a decent amount of shopping at amazon this will pay for itself in a very short amount of time. I admittedly DON'T do a lot of shopping at Amazon, otherwise I might take advantage of this. The problem for me is I can find better prices than amazon at one of my "usual" places, and most have free or nearly free shipping to boot....

though I have realized that brick and mortar shopping is dead unless I am a complete tool.

$80 a year? Sheeeeeet.

Is that a good "Sheeeet," or a bad one? The fact that you can extend it to up to four Amazon accounts within the same household is a pretty sweet deal. I know that if two-day shipping wasn't so steep on Amazon, I'd probably buy from them more often, paying nearly 10% in sales taxes is a bitch.

And when you consider that, the membership may pay for itself pretty quickly.

As others have said it's a great deal if you're a regular/fiend amazon.com shopper...

No thanks. Its easy enough to price match them to places that offer free 2 day shipping already.

Well, yeah. The problem is finding some place that will price match, have free 2 day shipping, AND not charge you sales tax. Getting that trifecta is nearly impossible when I'm shopping online.

Like where? I like the concept, but know not the source.

Depends on what I'm buying. If its books I will usually hit up bookpool.com (computer books). If its Mac or general computer stuff I'll hit up macmall and its pc cousin. if its phone related I'll hit up letstalk.com.

Don't buy anything else from amazon.com other than those things.

I want it, but I scared

$80 is a lot of money, and though I order soemthing from amazon about once a month, I just don't know if I can make that commitment (yeah, I'm single).

At the moment, I don't order more than once a month at Amazon, so this deal is nothing for me. However, now with the GAF AFFILIATE STATUS, that may change.

That actually could be quite good for families at least, and would work for regulars who always have stuff that doesn't qualify for the $25 free shipping deals.

I'd like to know more about the family thing but they don't really get into specifics. I live 650 miles away from my parents and brother, but that's where my legal residence is. They don't make it clear whether there's an issue with shipping items all over the place with regard to this deal. Between the four of us I'm sure we would capitalize on this easily, but just for myself, that'd be tight. I'd have to start ordering just about everything from Amazon instead of buying elsewhere.

Of course, such a situation might fall into their fraud clause...

It's pretty clear. If you want to add people, they all have to be shipping it to the same address.

Actually, I don't think that's true at all...

I of course, signed up for the program instantly, being the Amazon.com bitch I am.

I can ship things both to my Queens address and my father's address in Manhattan for two-day free. I then tried other addresses of friends in other states, and those two applied for free two-day shipping.

I think what they might mean is one person can purchase a subscription and cover multiple people, for numerous shipping addresses. Though I could be wrong, and the above could be their system glitching.

Probably a glitch:

But I never established a "standard" shipping address where my family lives when signing up for Prime.

I'll be moving soon anyway, if it goes by billing address that'll be changing, but I still want all my packages delivered to my parent's place in Manhattan simply because of the doorman so I don't have to deal with these bullshit "YOU WEREN'T HOME" things from UPS.
