One of the features is having the game linked to your Steam account though.
Yes, no, sort of.

If a game offers nothing else but +1 to your Steam library, that's still nice to have. Mainly because I have hundreds of games, and if I have to hunt around for my discs which I store in another room or find the installer online from Humble Store or whereever, then I'm all the more likely to forget that I own it. I'm constantly buying new hardware and sometimes I want to do a fresh Windows install, so it's convenient to have your entire game library available just by reinstalling the Steam client (assuming you store your game data on another disk) and not have to mess with manually reinstalling games and adding links to Steam library.

But ideally, they should include Steam cloud as well, because it's a hassle to manage save games manually if you play on multiple machines. Plus I tend to forget about all the different places games put your save files and I'll forget to back them up before reformatting.

Achievements aren't really a convenience feature like the other stuff I mentioned, but I kind of like them for some reason. If I had to pick between cheevos and cloud, I'd take cloud though.

I'm just saying that it's sometimes enough for people like me. Of course I agree with everything you say, how couldn't I after I seemingly lost my 14h Last Remnant save ;_;

So...Civilization IV Complete and Stronghold Collection gets optional Steam key version for those who want all their games on Steam. Thanks for giving us more options, Tony!

Holy cow, Civ IV has a steam version available on Amazon? I bought the regular on Amazon a few months ago. I'd loooooove for it to be in my steam library. Dammit.

Really debating if to get Tera or not, Diablo has me by the balls currently and odds are Tera will go F2P in 4 months (it is in Korea). Any chance of a Witcher2 sale though anytime soon?

I don't think Tera is free to play in Korea. If it is, considering that it has been out in Korea for a year, there's little change that it will go free-to-play in America any time soon. If you have any interest in the game, you might as well jump in at this price, because I doubt it will get cheaper any time soon.

A little piece of advice for all of you guys entering fake U.S. addresses to order:

Pick an address in Oregon. They don't have sales tax.

I don't know if this works. I actually live in Oregon and have so for years, but when I recently pre-ordered Lollipop Chainsaw I still had sales tax.

Wait, I bought Stronghold Collection off Amazon. No serial to put in Steam, are they separate purchases?

Edit: Just noticed the note on the Amazon page. Oh well.

Hey Tony,
I'm interested to know if there's any chance that the whole practice of offering both steam and non-steam versions will reach other publishers soon - specifically I care about Ubisoft and the Assassin's Creed series...

Yes, yes I can. I can be very judgmental, you know.

I decided to get that Square Enix bundle.. Too good a deal to pass up.
Don't know if this is the best place to post this, but does anybody want Supreme Commander 2? It's not really my thing.

First quote gets the code in a PM.

I don't see how that's possible? Oregon has no sales tax. You might consider contacting customer support about that. Source: Born/raised/still live here.

New stuff coming: EA racing games for $5 each: Burnout Paradise, NFS Shift, Shift 2, Hot Pursuit, and Undercover. There's also EA racing pack bundle, but the price hasn't been updated.

Any chance of having a Steam-activated version of these games, Tony? :)

What's the best of these titles, excluding Burnout?

Getting a Steam code for an EA game is about as common as getting a tall, cold glass of unicorn milk.

Hey Tony,

is there a reason why X-COM: UFO Defense and Terror From The Deep aren't on sale while Enforcer and Apocalypse are? I'm not really interested in the latter 2 and don't want them on my account. Or does the collection come with separate codes?

Thanks in advance :)

Tony, quick question, is there a four pack for PAYDAY available? I want to make myself a crew :D

Yes, there is.
