Oh shit, just saw billy hatcher is on the list. Definitely getting that, not sure if I want anything else.
I love the sales Tony but sadly I'm strapped for cash right this minute (until sept) and most of these deals and packs contain games I already own. I would love some of the games in pack deals to have individual sales on them of some degree.
I would have bit on DKS so goddamn hard, if it wasn't on sale on steam the other day. You took too long! Also the game of thrones games are pretty much at the edge of my interest. 10$ for genesis? Hnnggg but poor
Please do some deep dirt cheapo deals on any of these?
Stronghold 3
Settlers 7 Gold
Anno 2070
Disciples 3 (both ones)
Risen 2
Confrontation
HOMM 6
King Arthur 2
dark souls
Dungeons
Skyrim
Legends of Pegasus
It is mostly likely Valve's fault for not offering serial keys for many titles.
Amazon could make a killing if they offered SteamWorks versions of all their games. It is mostly likely Valve's fault for not offering serial keys for many titles.
Valve's fault? Absolutely not. Each individual publisher is responsible for making the decision as to whether or not distribute Steam keys for any of their non-Steamworks titles. (You're actually using the term Steamworks wrong: all games that are Steamworks can only be used through Steam; i.e., wherever you buy them, you'll always get a Steam key.)
You'll be hard-pressed to find EA or Ubisoft willingly distributing Steam keys of their games to third-party resellers simply because of the fact that Origin and Uplay are direct competitors to Steam.
What I don't understand is, why do new games from Ubisoft still release on Steam when they are trying to push Uplay?
people, ea games redeem on origin and origin only
stop acting like origin is such a bad thing too, its not.
To be fair, not very many people have claimed otherwise. Even though I personally prefer to use Steam whenever possible, Origin is just fine as a service. Also, Valve could learn a thing or two about EA's customer support.
For example, after I bought the EA Sports classics pack with NHL 09 and Madden 08 from Amazon a few days ago, my NHL 09 key wouldn't register correctly on Origin even though it did recognize it. I contacted EA's live support chat, and within 15 minutes the guy had not only successfully activated my NHL key, he also added Madden 08 onto my account even though the key for a game that old can't normally be activated on Origin. That's what I call good customer service.
The times I had to contact EA CS was really, really terrible
Steam will never remove a game.
I could say the same about Steam. No live support at all, and their answers to support tickets come with a delay of many hours if not days, and eventually the answer tends to be a copypasted message which may or may not have anything to do with the problem you were describing in the first place.
With EA, it seems to depend on how good a support person you happen to catch on shift, but if you're lucky, it's just great.
That's not true. If you got an illegitimate key it can be deactivated.
also they remove games from the service sometimes as well (try finding Out Run).
You know youre a gamer when
Our Marketing Manager made a bet with 2K games that Amazon would sell a metric ton of Borderlands 2 at launch. Turns out he was right. The guys from 2K flew him out to New York and paid for him to get this awesome Claptrap tattoo from Luke Wessman at Wooster St. Social Club (the guys who do NY Ink). From Tony himself -This game is absolutely amazing and I cant think of any better way to celebrate it than carrying Claptrap around on my back.

I think Tony said it had to sell more than 40k.
So you're the guy who wrote that comment? It's kinda weird to see GAFfers over there on FB (?)https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?....10151362562415261.817101.137830960260&type=1
Using the 6.4 oz weight of the console versions, you only need to sell 5512 copies to achieve a metric ton. That was an easy bet, Tony.

Yeah I just wanted the 1C sale but it looks like the logistics will keep it from being released :\
Did the 1C deal ever appear btw?
(Guessing this thread is the Amazon thread to use now that the last sale is over)
Hey guys,
Sorry for the lack of an update here. We're working on it but I don't know what the ETA is.
2 of the problems we're running into:
1. We need to figure out how to give our 60+ Steam keys AND the rest of the DRM free games without breaking stuff (right now it is breaking stuff), this would be 1 bundle - Steam + DRM free where Steam options don't exist.
2. We need to figure out how to give out all the games, line item by line item, without breaking stuff. Our Dev team thought they'd have a solution in place by Sunday, this didn't happen though (apparently programming is really hard).
I'll keep you guys updated.
Cheers,
Tony
Alright guys,
My dev team asked if I could try and put together a smaller bundle so we could kick the tires on exactly how much we can handle, and figure out where stuff might break.
To that end, I've been talking with Strategy First, who we carry like, 90 games for.
I want to break this list into a couple/few 25-30 game bundles and then price them at $12.49 each.
Here's the list. Give me your suggestions.
Also, where the games are on Steam, SFI has assured me we'll get Steam keys.
<large list of games>
Cheers,
Tony
