Amazon is the shit

So I've been a pretty consistent Amazon Prime member since 2007. I've never had this happen before:

No wonder they are #1 in customer loyalty. Do you have any cool things to share that Amazon has done?

Also, I'll say this now, but I'm aware that they do have issues with the conditions that they put their employees through. Hopefully they are taking the steps to improve that. That should really be for another thread.

To be fair they simply do the math and know when it costs more to inconvenience you vs biting the bullet.

Convenient and efficient sure, but not altruistic. But hey, the whole operation runs on that ethos.

They fuck up packaging limited edition merch loosely in a box with other shit regularly.

I prefer Best Buy for gaming related items. Their reward program is legit.

yeah for $30 for 2 years to walk in and pay ~$50 for a game day 1 or even less with the reward certificates, its really good for video games especially if buying physical copies. Although if i'm buying something else movies etc. amazon is the best place to go imo

Oft hope is born when all is forlorn.
I love their customer service. I know abiut a loophole but dont want to say it here, cz people will abuse it. But I agree OP, i have had nothing but great experience with them.

Ya. Amazon is the shit. They definitely helped me out with a defective order before. Low value, "please keep it! We will send another now"

I buy stuff I want from them, they ship it to me quickly and intact. That's about all I ask, and they've held up their end of the bargain. That's pretty cool in my book.

It can be great. Tried to order a specific flavor of popcorn a few months ago, got the wrong flavor. They then reshipped it, got wrong one again, tried one more time, still wrong. Guy on chat was like Ill refund you the money and just keep the popcorn we shipped you.

Too bad it was like kettle corn which I dont like...but my family sure loves it lol.

bought a $14 item. they send the product but the vendor packaged the wrong product in the right box. got a replacement, sent back the wrong item. decided i didn't like the item, sent back the second item. they charged me $7 to return. amazon is good but these awesome experiences are not across the board.

This has happened to me a couple times. It's sometimes just not worth it for them to restock the item, especially if they have to pay for the return shipping.

If Amazon paid for return shipping every time someone didn't "like" what they ordered, people would abuse the hell out of it.

I've been an Amazon member since 1999.
I can't really think of any times when I've had much of an issue with them.

I used to be kind of annoyed at them killing small/local businesses back when I lived around a bunch of small/local businesses.
But that was bound to happen with the rise of internet shopping in general regardless. And then living in an area without any meaningful local businesses kind of removed any care I had left anyway.

So this happens once in 10 years. I'm not a fan anymore because they closed my Prime account and refuse to do anything about it. For no reason at all.

Understand that some small business is usually suffering when shit like this happens. Even with FBA

By all means tho keep fucking that automated sandbox metrics based chicken

New companies are endlessly sprouting. All this doom and gloom regarding the convenience of Amazon is akin to 'man yelling at cloud'.
