What makes old Top Gear and The Grand Tour is the chemistry and friendship between the hosts.

Unless someone can find or make a similarly close knit group, who have a decent sense of humour, able to take the piss and and have the piss taken, be bold on camera but not too obnoxious, and love cars (and motorvehicles in general), then it will be a flop. Oh, and get in great with their producer.

It wasn't just luck. Hammond and May were hand picked by Clarkson and Wilman.
Hamond was picked after a couple of jokes he made during an interview, that showed to Clackson that he could do some funny banter.
And Clarkson had to try a few times, before being able to convince May to join the team. That is why in the first season, they had a guy named Jason Dawe.
The first seasons, we can see they are still fumbling their way around, trying to know each other. But each member has his particular style of comedy, that complements the others.
The lucky part could be that around 2007, Clarkson had some health issues. This forced the team to give less screen time to Clarkson and more to may and Hamond, resulting in a more developed team effort.
The other lucky part was Hamond's accident with the jetcar. This made news around the world and gave Top Gear a huge publicity boost.

For the new Top Gear, it's clear they were picked by a committee of non-creative people.
A committee that has a main focus of creating a sanitized version of Top Gear. And that is why it has become so bland and unfunny.

I'm genuinely saddened by this news, what he said was vile but he apologized publicly and privately and that should've been enough.

I grew up watching Top Gear and stopped watching once the trio moved to Amazon and created The Grand Tour. Pretty much everything Jeremy Clarkson, James May or Richard Hammond create I enjoy.

I'm glad there will be a few more Grand Tour specials and Clarksons Farm episodes before these shows are killed off. Fingers crossed another broadcaster snatches them up.

Her mothers side, I honestly dont have a good answer for that. Her answer is palace guidance. Dont know if it was more security would be needed or what, they already had to have snipers at the wedding. Her fathers side its pretty obvious, all they do is leak/create stories especially her half sister Samantha who has released some of the most cringeworthy easily refutable stories, what is interesting though is Samanthas own daughter has sided with her aunt Meghan over her own mom. The other lucky part was Hamond's accident with the jetcar. This made news around the world and gave Top Gear a huge publicity boost.

It's possible yet highly unlikely. What about her ex? What about her former best friend? When someone has a problem with everyone it's more likely that they are the problem. It's not highly unlikely because that friend of mine isn't the only one with that experience. Trauma can cause you to trust the wrong people, be good to the wrong person, etc etc

I wouldnt be surprised if this all blows over as Amazon havent actually said anything, and still making shows into 2024 sems a little weird if they are pissed about this.
Its more likely that Clarksons contract is up in 2024, and it may or may not be renewed.

Make no mistake though, the trio may be in their 50's and 60's but someone will snap them up instantly. Their shows are just too popular.
