So I ordered a 3G I-Pod from Amazon yesterday, but I also added in the USB Adapter Thingie which "ships in 1-2 business days from J&R Music and Computer World." When I got my confirmation, it listed only the 3 items I got and no mention of the Adapter, the "Total for This Order" was the total for the 3 items, but the "Order Grand Total" included the price of the Adapter, though the Adapter wasn't listed anywhere in the e-mail, nor is it anywhere on my pending orders, nor have I received a separate e-mail about that item. I called Amazon, and they were basically clueless, saying something about "when you order from an affiliated store on our site at the same time as someone else, sometimes it doesn't go through." Likely story, particularly considering my Grand Total includes the price of the adapter.

Anyone know what's going on?

My advice? Wait for the authorization to hit your credit card... if it does not include the amount of the item that has vanished simply reorder that separately, if it does, raise hell with Amazon.com

That's where it gets worse, I ordered it on the "Amazon Card" right after getting approved, so I won't be able to check that for a few weeks since I don't have the card yet (though maybe I can just give them my name and check the balance that way). Ah the joys of impulse buying.

Yes you should be able to call them and they should be able to tell you the amount.

That's definitely what I'll do. I'm just shocked that they had almost no clue how ordering from affiliated stores worked since like half their products are like this. : /
