It's dead..
Really? I am heartbroken. I was really looking forward to getting Whit Stillman characters on a regular basis, rather than once a decade.
It's dead..
They've been getting less and less feedback every year for these pilots. I wonder how long this can last? They need a House of Cards already.
Comparing this to House of Cards? No way. The Bosch pilot was atrocious. I like the books and author, but the pilot was boring and felt unfinished. The potential is there for the series to be a lot better, but I despised the shit out of the pilot. They might get one next month:

My post is meaningless because yours was unclear? LOL, okay. But point taken.Meh. I liked it a lot. But this is meaningless. I was talking about popularity and Bosch might be very popular.
When it comes to quality Amazon already at last matched House of Cards with Transparent.
That's true, but based on critical "buzz" and word of mouth, House of Cards and Orange seem pretty popular. Most of the others, not so much. Also, it's worth noting that we have no idea how "popular" these Netflix shows are -- we only get small snippets from Netflix, like that Orange is the New Black is the most popular show on the platform.

I think you're dead wrong. I think the pilot was great and it will be hugely popular. It will dwarf anything else Amazon has made. THe books are very popular and the show will be distributed on the very same place the books sell most of their volumes. Amazon's ability to cross promote this will be huge.No matter how you slice it, Bosch isn't going to be the "killer app" for Amazon's service. At the same time, it's not a horrible thing to have either. It might attract some readers to give Amazon a chance.
Agreed about Amazon being an ideal home for the Bosch show because of the books. But I can't see how the pilot was great, unless you're a Bosch fanboy. Something isn't going to be a "killer app" because it appeals to people who were already fans in the first place. It needs to generate an audience beyond that, and I can't see the boring, unfinished pilot doing that too successfully. Unless the show becomes dramatically better (it may, and I hope it does), I don't see it lasting more than one season. Then again, quality often has nothing to do with it. The horrendous Extant (Halle Berry show) somehow got renewed for a second season.I think you're dead wrong. I think the pilot was great and it will be hugely popular. Will it be as big as House of Cards? Propably not, but no idea honestly, especially since we have no clue how popular HoI really is. But I think it has high chances to be first hit for Amazon Prime and will will be the "killer app" for it as much as any show can be .
Well, plenty of people don't think like you do. It was rated very highly and I doubt all it's viewers are fanboys of novel series and then among those fanboys so many are incapable od juging it fairly. But I can't see how the pilot was great, unless you're a Bosch fanboy. What happened to that show about the guy who just got out of prison? I remember him and his sister going on an aimless drive one night to unwind.
What? The After canceled? I thought it was already picked up for a season of 8 2 hour episodes? Out of all the originals Amazon got going on, it was the one I was most excited for.
Same. Now idk if I want to watch this season of pilots.
These shows sound mostly like garbage. I'll check out The Man in the High Castle. Point of Honor sounds particularly stupid from the description.
Betas was junk. Silicon Valley is much better. And you also got Halt and Catch Fire which while not being quite the same thing, is close enough, and also better.

Even got good reviews, not perfect, but still. They could have said something sooner, I thought it was still coming out. I guess the cost for the show was to high, probably would be better on a paid network like HBO or something.
Yeah isn't the whole point of this pilot season initiative the fact that WE decide what gets picked up?
I mean I enjoyed Silicon Valley too but its a completely different type of show.
I'll check out Halt and Catch Fire
What about The Cosmopolitans?
Deadline says they ordered more scripts as of October, so I think it's still in contention(?)
It's dead.
did any of the pilots even get picked up last year? i liked the one with sarah chalke and the indian dude...
There's something slightly brutal about Amazon throwing a bunch of mediocre or bad pilots into a pit with a few good ones, and then letting the court of public opinion thrash and reject some quite loudly. All this, when Amazon certainly could whittle down their picks to a handful of plausible hits.
Looks pretty epic. I think i'll watch it if i hear it's good.
I don't know if they're being released at midnight PT, but these should be up sometime soonish.
They could hold off until tomorrow morning, but it's worth checking at midnight if you're still up.Oh nice , I know what I'm doing with the rest of the night .
Pilots are available on Amazon.
Just use search. There won't be a banner.Weird. There's no promo banner or anything. I guess it'll be up later.

The last time they put up a banner later. I think.Seriously? Stealth pilots? I searched and found them but how are people supposed to be aware of this? The whole Amazon pilots thing is a baffling venture.
I have no use for this model of programming. I respect the idea to try something new on Amazon's part, but the vast quantity of amazing TV out there right now, I have no desire to waste an hour(or more) on shows that don't at least have a guaranteed first season. Like the show, wait a year if you're lucky? And worst case scenario, something like The After, which actually got picked up but isn't coming. Make the decisions yourself Amazon, and give us the shows when they're ready.
