No kidding. I'm trying to figure out if it is at all possible, but I've been looking into other options. I have thought of some things, but it would violate Amazon's TOS.

They didn't have an affiliate program page in English, so I assume it's not available for America.

Amazon.co.uk works quite well for U.S. residents, I've ordered Spaced, The Office (before it went Region 1), I'm Alan Partridge, The League of Gentlemen and tons more from them.

I think I already stated that, but maybe you should say clearly that many amazon.ca coupons are not allowed on it's affiliate forums. So you should get information on that (if you did not already, that is), and state clearly about what is tolerated about posting coupons, and what's not, on GAF. I think the issues are mainly about Amazon.ca. I clearly remember animeondvd.com banning them because it was a pain in the arse.

Yes. Amazon doesn't really check where the visitor is coming from. As long as our affiliate ID is embedded in the URL, we're credited.

Yes, this is true for all regions. We have some TOS modifications that need to be made.

We get a bit more when we directly link to products. Search box and mycroft links earn the standard rate. It's not a lot, but it's still something...

We're stickin' with UK since it's in English. To be honest, I know Europe is a huge continent, but we chose UK because we felt it was easy. The last thing we want are 50 different affiliates since someone will have to claim all of these people when it comes to tax time.

I'd check the product's web page. Often times, it will say where it can ship the item.

Nope, Amazon is all we need. Remember, someone actually has to report these items to the tax man, and to be quite honest, we need to be able to have some level of control over where our link gets posted, since we're bound by their operating agreement.

Amazon.ca's Video Game section is a shitfest. They didn't even bother to create a DS section, it's impossible to find a fair amount of games, and the thing is just a complete and total mess. I doubt they'll have a PSP Pre-Order section for another month...in other words, not at all.

I ordered something, but don't know if it worked or not. I wish there was some kind of confirmation along the way that I was doing it right. I seen mention of gaming age forums in the url when i first searched using the link at the top of gaf, but once i bought the item i didn't see anything. hope it went through. i spent about $105. hope it helped.

Yup. Which kinda explains why the numbers are sorta lacking for .ca at the moment. Still, it's the only affiliate program worth looking at for our friends up north. Of course, if you guys happen to visit Amazon.ca and find the PSP, just post here and Wellington, EviL, or myself will edit the ad.

That's awesome, thanks for thinking of us. Well, it's 5% to start, and right now, it's 5.25% per item. If we refer something like 100 items in one quarter, it gets bumped up to 5.75%. If you are guys are interested in our take, I'm sure we can put something up that gets updated monthly/quarterly.

I was speaking more in regards to the PSP ad specifically...I use Amazon.ca for DVDs all the time. Although, I will likely be picking up The Incredibles in stores when I'm away the weekend after it releases, so I might not be using it for awhile.

So I'm going to bounce some ideas off you guys... For the most part, Wellington and I will try to update the GAF Affiliate store once a week. We'll be covering a few weekly releases from each game platform, a music section (with most of the popular players, accessories, and the like, and of course, a DVD section.

We'll probably rip some NPD data as well. So what do you guys think? We missing anything?

More like you can't, really. Amazon.ca is fine for DVDs, alright for music but sucks for video games, especially pre-orders and DS titles (As in, they don't have a section for them).
