Now that the dust has settled a little bit, I think too many of you are being too harsh on this card. It's more or less as fast as a Titan X in 4K res. Not too shabby imo.
Obviously the 1080p performance looks bad comparatively, but consider this:
- The drivers used for the reviews are likely not the best as per usual
- The voltage is locked, so you aren't going to get good overclocks when the core voltage is on the limit (the minimum) of what you can feed the GPU. Apparently this is so AMD could keep power draw and temp down. This explains the paltry overclocking headroom. I am certain this card will offer at least 15-20% core clock overclocks with more voltage.
- On the overclocking point, this card runs cooler than any other top GPU out there. Again, not too shabby.
