Huh? Youtube is already censored. They take down gore and nudity content, amongst other things.
Nudity is allowed on YouTube, you just have to call it art. Seriously look up the video called "I'VE GOT THE WEIRDEST BONER RIGHT NOW". It's hilarious.

I still don't see how this doesn't get passed and the RIAA/MPAA go on a rampage against YouTube and everyone else for anything they deem as "illegal content".

I'm thinking over the possible felony charges in my head. Would a mother or father who submits a family slideshow to YouTube with copyrighted music really face the possibility of charges? The US would run out of jail cells in a hurry.

we have a fast growing private prison system just waiting for new customers.

I wonder if that lobby had a hand in this also.

Seems absurd... but legally under this bill it could happen.

It always made sense to me that as long as you weren't making money or using other peoples content for advertising, then it should be a ok.

Why would he not veto this when he's running for re-election? One of the major reasons he won was by getting younger people to vote. This would alienate those people.
Alienate them to who? This is a two party system, who will they vote for?

They'll stay home, which is as good as voting for his opponent.

It's just as effective to discourage the other side from voting as it is to enhance your own.

With OWS going on, alienate the far left/young enough, you may get a 3rd party guy also.
If Obama supports this, I'll vote 3rd party. If the Reps win, it can't be much worse, and maybe we can get some real change in the Dems.

I'll bet about 70% of people bitching about this didn't even sign the protest. Internet Yeah!

Go sign that crap, US Gaf >.<

I don't know where I heard it, but they're only going to be blocking word web addresses. If you know the IP address to any blocked websites, you will still be able to access them.

Emailed Obama, no point with my congressfolks, they'll win even if they burned the American flag the day before the election. Veto is our best bet I think.

If Obama doesn't veto this, I'm not voting for him, I'll just stay home or vote radical left.

If this passes OpenDNS have said that they will probably could move their company offshore.

If SOPA turns out to be sufficiently onerous, Americans will simply switch to using offshore DNS providers that will offer encrypted links, Ulevitch predicts. (CloudFloor, for instance, is headquartered in the U.K.'s Channel Islands.) Or U.S. entrepreneurs will move offshore.
"We can reincorporate as a Cayman Islands company and offer the same great service and reliability and not be a U.S. company anymore," says Ulevitch, who located his headquarters in the south of Market area of downtown San Francisco, a stone's throw from the city's light rail station.

Edit: They could move offshore

Government doesn't act on the basis of what the people want or is in the public interest, it acts based on what the political and corporate elite feel is the best way for society to function. They have no real interest in your opinions, instead they will try to manipulate public opinion to best suit their ideals.
