American Nintendogs Commerical

Ugh, this frustrates me. They could have done so much better.

I wasn't thrilled about the Japanese commercial either, but hell, it kicks the ass of this atrocity. At least it had a bit of style.

Animal Crossing's commercial isnt nearly as bad as Nintendogs

if i remember, AC's commercials was like a play on MTV's The Real World
 
Not sure I want to play Nintendogs now. I'm afraid if I play it, young 13-14 year old girls will knock on my door. I don't want to be known as the "Neighborhood Pedo".

Not at all. The AC ads were kind of funny and absolutely nothing like this.

I hate to tell you guys, the commercial might suck to us. I fucking hate it (mainly the "playaz" part -- it might not be so bad if not for that cringe-worthy part).

But you guys need to realize they're not targeting us with this game and younger kids don't cringe at that stuff. That will make it look "cool" to a 13 year old.

Shitty commercial for a great game though. Oh well.
 
I would be fine with the commercial if the tagline was "These bitches get you bitches!" or something that signifies the whole thing is a joke or parody. As it stands now, it's sort of like making your lego people have sex and calling yourself a pimp.

They ABSOLUTELY need to have classy commercials for the game that cater to older audiences. Maybe use some high profile, classy celeb like Julia Roberts or somebody really cute like Hillary Swank. Have them play the game, laugh with it, and then have an announcer voice the features.

i was watching the discovery channel tonight and this ad came on with all these cute little puppies running around playing and being just cute adorbal little puppies.

I was thinking to myself it must be a new nintendogs comercial and how cute it freggin was. then to my suprise it was an ad for dogfood only.

all they gotta do is film some cute puppies and say nintendogs at the end and they have a million sold.
 
Animal Crossing promo:

I believe he is referring to the E3 promo where a boy and his sister were playing/telling about Animal Crossing, and how cool it was to have your own place, arrange your own furniture, etc. The TV commercials were, as mentioned, The Real World-type situations.

Nintendogs commercial:

Not as bad as everyone is making it out to be, but not the best commercial, either. It has a good amount of gameplay shown, which should attract puppy-lovers despite the whole "playa" thing. For someone not necessarily interested in video games, maybe the comercial will make them notice Nintendogs as something beyond a normal video game. At least, I hope so. :-/

I couldn't agree with this more. There's probablly a study out there somewhere but most people love puppies. And if you don't love them then you don't hate them either.
 
I can't even follow the plot. Why is he watching a basketball game & talking to his TV? He says he's going to trade his TV in for a Nintendog to help him score chicks? WTF?

Shouldn't he be talking to his real live dog or something?

I'm sure Nintendo is going to release a more "adult" version of this commercial. Only if the game initially is a hit though. Sarah Jessica Parker would be sweet to advertise it too!

Edit: After seeing Nintendo's choice of E3 booth babes, I thought that was a sign of them wanting to appeal more to an older audience. Anyways, they were still hot!

Also, anyone have a link to the "other" version of this commercial?
 
For the record, I don't take offense to the commercial. It's not good by any stretch of the imagination, but these things rarely are, and besides, Nintendo seems to be pretty good at creating and selling franchises if they want to. Slap these things in DS kiosks nationwide and I doubt anyone will even know there was a commercial.

I think the commercial's good for a chuckle, but that's me. It'll certainly spark interest, I think. They barely scratch the surface of what the game's about, so the uninformed will be apt to look into the game.
 
To be fair, it's pretty much impossible to pitch this game to young boys. They really shouldn't be.

The girls ad is much better, but what Nintendo really needs to do is make MORE of these ads. They especially need one pitching it to MOTHERS.

Also Snoop Dogg would be a great salesman for this. Drop it like it's hot.
 
They just have to try to sell the game to people who like, or enjoy dogs!

Just 2 people comparing a real dog to a Nintendog and some poo joke about not having to clean up the carpet afterwards would do the job better than what they came up with.
