America's Sweatiest Cities

And don't forget the gag-inducing stench.

Granted, it is NOTHING like it was in the 70s- early 90s. But it's still nasty compared to subways from other big cities in terms of comfort and cleanliness.
Is that black mould?

Other countries benefit form newer systems, and actual governments that are invested in their systems. 174th grand concourse station looks worse. But it's in the Bronx so noone cares.

Is that black mould?

Nope, lots and lots of dirt, mixed with peeling paint(?).

If you completely reversed the list, it would make more sense. New Orleans and Houston are built on the swamp.

Here's the pop density of the NE cities + Chicago and NO/Houston.

NYC 28,210/sq mi
Chicago 11,898.29/sq mi
Washington DC 11,158/sq mi
Boston 6,900/sq mi
Philadelphia 11,685.02/sq mi

Houston 3,662/sq mi
New Orleans 2,310.78/sq.

The NE Cities are so dense that it traps the heat, and don't have as much as AC as the southern cities.
