My shameless haul from Friday night. The only thing not pictured is the Marth I tracked down an hour after I took the picture. I would have re-taken the picture with him in-box too, but I didn't realize he was missing until I started opening 'em up.

I'm completely satisfied with the quality of the figs. They're all awesome!

Star Fox is getting a game next year produced by Miyamoto. Miyamoto has said he wants an Arwing Amiibo. I'm hoping that means Nintendo treats the game good with new Amiibos because I don't like the current Fox Amiibo.

Nintendo has said that as more come out older ones will be phased out.

Blowdryer? Be careful not to melt the toy. I used to do that for stuck joints on Marvel Legends and stuff, never melted anything but yeah.

Are messed up Villagers really common? I guess mine really did overcome the odds!

I didn't really get a chance to look at any other Villagers at the store, 'cause this one was the last one my local Gamestop had in stock.

Picked up Link and Pikachu today and tried out Link with Smash U. Still not entirely sure how different fighting a FP is as opposed to the regular A.I...

Having said all that, I really hope in future games, Nintendo makes sure that every Amiibo will provide at least something when you scan them in. Otherwise, characters like Mario and Link will have a lot more functionality compared to Villager or WFT and that sucks.

Yeah I was in the same boat until I opened Mario and used him. Then I got all addicted and opened them all. I only have 4. And I'm trying to be real with myself, I'm never going to sell them, and I'd rather use them for their intended purpose . So I opened them from the bottom and did a good job. Deciding if I should throw away the boxes or keep them. I'll probably keep them. I can put the figures back in if I want.

I'm with you. I went from "nah... I don't need them" to "COLLECT ALL THE AMIIBO" in a few days thanks to this thread.

I can't wait! I'm a bit nervous about how they will be received here though. I haven't seen a single commercial or display stand here (Netherlands).

Just got Samus, Fox, and what I think was probably the last Marth in my city. Called all the usual suspects and everyone was out of stuck until I lucked out at my local Target. They said it was their last one and I had them hold it for me. I'm just gonna keep him unopened for now seeing how scarce he seems to be.

The marth's face seems to be pretty decent.

I am with you two. "Patiently" waiting, all the while worrying, if I will even get the figures I want. At this point in time, I am definitely set on Samus, (very likely) Fox, and (very likely if I find a good-looking one) Marth. Initially I planned on only buying Pit, but that has already changed, so we will see how it continues. I am scared.

Amazon ran out of Marth, so you may find it in store.
Also if you have GCU it is $2.60 cheaper at Best Buy.
Plus quality is all over the place as the poster above said.

You don't have to replace it.(the majority will have that problem anyway)
Boil some water, hold the sword in the water for around 30 seconds it will become very flexible. Straighten the sword out then immediately dip it in ice cold water for 10 seconds.
Repeat but this time keep it in the cold for 30+ seconds.

I know of that method but does it work for Marth? Maybe I'll check some local stores and see if they have it with straight sword first.

I noticed some other Gaffers found him without a defect.

Some people have been complaining about Amazon sending Amiibos with dented and bent packages. If you're a super collector and want these in mint condition, Amazon is sort of a risk. I'm waiting for my Link to arrive from Amazon and I'm a little nervous.

I'd avoid online retail purchase: I think that amiibos are quite good looking, even if not as the prototypes, but there could still be some minor issues, for example with painting or stickers application

Gaffers, Time to make a serious investment, the speculative market will be hot fire for this stuff during Christmas time. If you missed the bitcoin wave or the rise of MVS neogeo carts, time to get early into this one, and buy buy buy everything you can. Get in with a bunch of friends and clean up entire racks of them, and hoard them until the very last week before Christmas or even for the weeks after.

Mine is good too. A lot have misprints where the eyes are printed on too high making him look off. If you pick him out in store it's not hard to find a good one.
