I think someone on here mentioned a package tracking site that is better than the official usps/fedex/whatever company's own site, anyone know what I'm talking about?
 
When I went to pick up my Captain Toad and NES Remix copies today at Best Buy I decided to check their Amiibo section (like I always do) and they seem to have restocked in all the popular characters except the "rare 3" (Trainer, Villager, Marth). In fact I never seen a single amiibo of those three characters at that store so it seems like they won't be restocking them (which falls in line with what that Nintendo rep said about them being a one print deal).

i initially purchased marth and link as my first two. got home to find my link has one derpy eye. i learned from then on to check for blemishes before picking one.

when i got my yoshi, two of the three had sort of messed up paint where the green meets the white on his face. not enough to make a big deal out of it, but the one i got definitely looked the best.
 
I think I've got all the first-wave now. Had to order Marth at full price which was a pain, all the rest I was getting for AUS$14 but still, full set feels good.
 
I went to my local Target today and checked out their Amiibo section. They only had a ton of Marios, Peaches, Yoshis, and Links left. The Marios and Yoshis all looked pretty good. I was even tempted to buy a Mario. But Link and Peach both had a lot of paint defects.

Went to my local Gamestop today to pick up an eShop card. Ended up preordering Ike and Sheik.

Damn these things. I want Mega Man too! And Marth... and Captain Falcon...

Thank you for the heads up. I actually ordered all of Wave 2 last night and was looking for this. I absolutely love that GCU works on these. Too bad Gamestop and TRU have exclusives as well (already ordered those as well). Is this Rosalina Target one confirmed to exist??

I am still in need of Marth and Villager. Gamestop person checked and there isnt a Marth in SC. Target scanned it and had none and none on the way :(

I dont want to pay the scaplers but probably will have too.

Heads up on CAG they said on 12/7 TRU is doing buy 1 get one 40% all games and accessories. They think it will work on these as well. I just bought 9 from them yesterday for the spend $35 and save $10. This is a better deal potentially. They also had the most inventory by far in my area.

Went to Bestbuy and got a Princess Peach. On the Peach the paint has some defects. The Peach model is cool though.

I have Princess Zelda paid in full, and going to get the Little MAC and Captain Falcon ASAP from Wave 2.
 
Finally got to play with the Villager Amiibo I was gifted yesterday (I have no Wii U) when I went to my friend's place for some Smash. My friend had a Fox Amiibo, which was really surprisingly high quality! The individual teeth on the zipper of his jacket are sculpted and overall the paint job is excellent. I was expecting the worst when I saw those photos of crappy Amiibos online. Anyway, so naturally we decided to pit the Amiibos against each other. Villager Amiibo loves to spam F-smash and gets a ton of kills that way since the Fox Amiibo is inconsistent with shielding against it. My Amiibo is now level 28 or so. We didn't max them out because we decided playing against each other was still more fun, but Amiibos are pretty cool!

The Fox Amiibo is great, both in game and actual sculpt. Only bad part of Fox I've seen is his visor is solid green and not clear green. It's a minor problem and understandable but still, it'd be nice if it was clear. Fox is sooooo hard at lvl50, at least mine is. I can hold my own against my Marth and Pikachu but Fox man...
 
Went around after work today looking for Marth and Villager with no luck. A good 8 stores and nothing. A handful had Wii Fit Trainer in stock, but I just picked that one up.

Hoping when Wave 2 comes in the bigger stores get restocks of Wave 1. I think WFT got restocked, but the others didn't.
 
So, I wasn't really going to buy any Amiibos, but I ended up coming across Marth at the Nintendo World store, and as a Marth main in Melee and Brawl, I'm morally obligated to have it lol. Gonna probably get Villager and WFT from there while they're still stocked, too.
 
Went to the Nintendo World Store this morning on a Marth hunt. No go..but the guy says follow us on twitter, thats where we will announce our next arrival. Go home, take a nap and wake up to Marths and Villagers and adaptors!! Fuck me.

I just went back..7 hours after the tweet. Last Marth sold 40 minutes before I got there. Only solace I take is they had the adaptor/game/contoller bundle so I bought it.

Ebay it is Marth.

For Wave 1 I only need Samus/DK/Peach, I figure I'll grab the hardest to find (of these 3 at least) just to make myself feel better.

Wave 2 I have Zelda/Little Mac/Captain Falcon on preorder already, I assume Luigi will be the easiest to find so I can wait on him.

Wave 3 I want Ike and Dedede the most, Meta Knight is a must have because of exclusivity. I'll get more down the road but these are the must-haves when they come out (though I need Mega Man too).

Fuck my life. Fuck Nintendo.
 
nothing has been announced to be one-off runs. they'll most likely restock. i'm just looking at Japan stock and they're getting another batch in. so i assume the rest of the world will follow suit.

afaik nothing has been said, but if they got restocked it would be in smaller numbers... they're characters that would arguably sell the least, so it makes sense and is why I'm getting ahead of the game for the newer waves (it's clearly their plan all along).

If they're sold out everywhere, I can't logically see Nintendo ignoring that.

Still - pre-ordered my Shulk SUPER early. I'm practically drooling over the damn thing.

May do the same for Ike and Captain Falcon.

I swear these things are sheer profit generators though. They can't cost more than around $5 to make and ship each.

Yeah, they have a good profit margin for sure. I wonder if they will ever discount older figures. Like it would be a much easier impulse buy at $10. And I wonder what game series they will toss cheaper figures at. I'm sure they could make some $5 figures, and likely blind box them.
 
All I wanted was Link, Samus, and WFT... Now I'm preordering the entire second wave...

Speaking of which; Amazon.ca doesn't have preorders for Diddy up...
 
Picked up smash bros which launched today in Japan and got yoshi cos he's awesome. They put the game and amiibo together in a cute little cardboard box. Which is nice.

With the Best Buy GCU discount, they already are $10. And it totally makes me impulse buy them and I hate it. Getting that GCU membership during that phone deal might have been a terrible decision...

Also, Nintendo has already confirmed that they're making some cheaper versions of amiibo later on.
