many stores probably get them according to whatever the company's normal shipping schedule is and just don't put them out right away. it sounds like the toys might have a street date. Either different companies have different street dates or some people just don't care.
i did the same thing for the exclusives. if they happen to sell out in US, i can sell them to recoup costs for the JPN versions. win win
Let's hope you are right. I pre-ordered everything I wanted from Wave 2 and 3. I am just missing the rare ones from Wave 1.

Everywhere I have gone her and link seem to be the most popular ones.
I'm still amazed Star Fox isn't cut back. Swear his shelf in these stores hasn't moved at all.

Yea, I hope you're right, because the more I think about this the more it doesn't make sense. Presumably many of these Amiibos will have functionality in future games(for example possibly Marth for Fire Emblem x SMT) so Nintendo has to give people another chance to buy those Amiibos. But then again it's Nintendo, so who knows.

It sucks I didn't even want these things, but it doesn't feel right to not own the ones for characters I play as regularly.

Here is an update from my previous post. I went to Toys "R" Us, Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop, and Target today looking for Marth.
That's what I ran across today in Michigan, USA. So does anyone want to trade a Marth for a Zelda, Diddy Kong, or Little Mac?!
Toys "R" Us: They had no Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, or Marth. But they had a lot of Zelda's, twelve Little Mac's, and only four Diddy Kong's.
I intially looked at Zelda because she was the one I wanted the most. And the paint quality on her was really good. The first one I picked up was flawless. But I looked at five or six more couldn't find any issues. I was excited because I thought maybe Wave 2 would be much more consistent quality. Then I looked at the Diddy Kong's... Out of the four there, there were easily spotted mistakes in the paint. Luckily there was one that looked decent enough to buy, so I did. Then I looked at the Little Mac's and only found 2 that had any issues with the paint. Pictured are the ones I went with.
Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop: Nothing special here. No Wave 2's or any Villagers, Wii Fit Trainers, or Marth's.
Target: Again, nothing special here. But they have spaces for Wave 2, so they must be expecting shipments anytime. I might be calling them every day to see what comes in over the next few days.

Wait till Robin and Lucina drop. (Can't even pre order them right now since they're not even on the store systems; at least at gamestop) Expect huge shortages real quick. You planning to grab a couple?
I might grab 2 lucinas myself since I want 1 as a sparring partner while keeping the other boxed in to sell in the future. Still thinking about Robin.

You know what pisses me off the most? Outside of Marth, Wii Fit Trainer and Villager, it's hard to gauge who's rare in the UK. Every store is all over the place.
Amazon UK doesn't have Captain Falcon, Little Mac, Zelda or Luigi which are from the next wave while DK, Kirby, Fucking MARIO and Peach from the1st wave are only available from third parties.
The Zelda, Luigi and Falcon from the second wave are available at Zavvi but no Little Mac and they don't have ANY of the 1st wave.
GAME only have Mario, Peach, Kirby and Fox from the 1st Wave while they have all the second wave pre-orders up.
Nintendo UK have all the first Wave up outside of the three rare ones, DK and Yoshi and they sold out of Little Mac.
In terms of the last Wave, Shulk, Meta Knight and Dedede are out of stock at Nintendo UK.
What do I do with this info! D:

once they release all waves, they could go back and do a second run. might take a while judging from how they release them but it's possible.

Damn, that's a ton of space in TRU; I haven't stepped into one in ages.
same, most of the local ones closed down years ago so i haven't gone to one in a long time. maybe 10 years? but i just checked and it seems there's a few superstores around i can check out. the rest are just outlet/express ones.
It just doesn't make sense if they're basing it on forecasted demand.
So what happens when people find out it's only being made in limited quantities which results in they're all bought up? Demand is at an all time high then.
So you do what? Stop making them? Yeah, sure. Sounds like a good plan. I'm sure all those consumers don't want anymore of those specific amiibos.
There are three I REALLY REALLY want: Rosalina, Palutena, and Lucina.
If I don't get those, I will legit be disappointed for a long while.
I also want Zero Suit Samus and Robin but those are lower priority to me.
i'm gonna expect pretty boring poses for both. well, Lucina might get a good one but Palutena has too much dress for them to do anything.

Where in Michigan? I'm heading out tomorrow to hopefully get a Little Mac.
The only problem I might have is their face and how well done (or not) it is.
The poses for them in smash are fine. They won't have the dumb support bar things sticking out most likely because they're both in good standing poses.

Robin only if it's FemRobin.
But yeah it's just odd. If anything it does feel like perhaps they might plan a wave of just the hard to get ones or something at some point. If that happened that would be something. It's still really dumb though. Especially in the case of Villager. Which represents Animal Crossing which is a huge franchise for them. As compared to Starfox.
Yeah I know i'm getting hung up on star fox but it still bugs me,
Zelda looks like she's in a good standing pose but she has that stupid purple boot.
