Starting to worry a bit, my amiibo preorders at best buy are all shifting over to the 30th now and the last time this happened (store pick up) they never got in my villager despite having the label printed saying it was ready
My Falcon was just moved to that date, looks like bunch of others had the same thing happen. If you're like me, you try to go as early as possible in order to insure you get what you paid for.
But my Best Buy is usually pretty good on not being complete idiots and selling preordered items. I've not once had a problem.
I'm gonna say Little mac, and captain falcon will probably end up being the hardest to find.
Went to TRU (Canada) today. They had 2 Diddy Kong and a lot of Zelda but they didn't want to sell them to me even though they were on the shelves. I told them to hold both of them for me (have them preordered on Amazon also).
I asked them if they had any Little Mac, the guy told me they had some but they were all sold, which I really don't understand since I wasn't able to buy Diddy Kong and Zelda.
Oh well.

Ugh I keep flip-flopping between "It's okay, I'm happy with the amiibos I have for now" and "I have to go to TRU directly after work for Diddy and Zelda". Additional unlocks from Zelda in Hyrule Warriors would push me over the edge, but I'm guessing they would have announced that by now if that was the case.

Just got emails from Best Buy about wave 2 getting pushed to Dec 30 except for Zelda and Little Mac (couldn't get Diddy).

This whole thing is getting so confusing.
Can't wait to see wave 3 turning into a real nightmare with all the exclusives.
Oh, I'm also heading to Japan in winter. Will be in the Tokyo area for maybe a couple sporadic days. What stores, both there and around the country, should I look for Amiibo at? Is Japan's stock better than America's? i.e. should I be able to find WFT, Villager, Marth? Any released over there that aren't yet over here?

I think you should do the right thing and sell it to people here on AmiiboGaf.
Talking from personal experience, it was a nightmare trying to find a Marth amiibo (not ridiculously priced). I had to have my dad buy one for me on his business trip to Japan.
So it would be a nice gesture to sell it someone ITT who don't get certain amiibos in their area.

My Dad is currently there right now. The Bic Camera he went to had every amiibo including the first half of Wave 2. There was a box of Marths behind the counter. But this is one store however (in Shibuya I think).
She unlocks a level 3 weapon or higher each day, if I remember correctly.
I think that's where I'm leaning (if I can afford the gap between buying and shipping to someone else where I won't have funds, haha). GAF has been pretty good to me.

My preorder for Mac, Diddy, and Zelda at Future Shop have been charged to my gift card, so they damn well better be on their way.
You should see what it's like in proper toy collecting. We at least have the benefit of release dates here. With toys, you frequently have to check certain stores on a near constant basis once sightings of them have started to appear online. You miss a day, a scalper will swoop in and get the rare ones...especially the ones packed one to a case.
Ha! I actually know what you're talking about, I've been there. Giant games section. I'm not surprised they have them all.

My buddy just found this on craigslist. It is 18 days old but has been updated to say the game and adapter was sold. I am going to be so envious if he gets that great deal.
Maybe you should check your local craigslist?
Looked at Craigslist and it just made my blood boil as it confirms I have a scalper plague in my city 😤 SO many Marth, villager, and WFT agghh!

Ugh looking like I missed out on Little Mac online. Can't find him anywhere. I tried to order yesterday through Best Buy and it wasn't accepting my credit card. Now that that's fixed of course he's gone. Guess I'll be hunting for him this weekend.
Got orders in for some of the others like Meta Knight, Captain Falcon, Shulk, and Pit.
I couldn't bring myself to order Diddy. I just don't really like him. I don't like Captain Falcon either but he should be pretty rare so I went ahead and got him anyway. Anyone thinking Pit will be rare? If nothing else I think he looks pretty cool.

Depends on where you're at, none of the stores by me yet have received any.
Damn same here. I just tried to get him from Best Buy. No at Walmart, Toys R Us, Best Buy, GameStop, Target.
Anybody know where Little Mac is still available? Might have to actually go to a store for him.

Yep, the rare at the moment is the Kaos trap (other than super rare variant colors like the golds and silvers). He was something like 1 in every 20 shipments at launch and is now even harder to find.

The prototypes are employees only and rarely end up in collectors hands and when they do its for a lot of money. A lot of the recolors/flocks are the same though some are released for promos or in EXTREMELY small amounts in random markets. Some recolors are let out in large numbers too so you just have to look into them if you are buying for collecting purposes rather than game purposes.

They're easier to come by, but there are a few rare ones (Violet, Syndrome, Randall, Davey Jones, and Francesco). No rare Infinity figures in 2.0. I can't vouch for Skylanders.

Went to Toys R Us, Best Buy, and Target for those three. Asked everyone and they were all sold out. Come to find out the local comic store owner bought every one in stock. Overall he bought around 22 shipping boxes worth of Marth, Villager, and WFT.
Yes that's right, 22 shipping boxes. I hope this guy ends up in a tire fire someday.

At that point, the best you can hope for is that Nintendo will do another massive shipment of them, and he'll be sitting on worthless shit.
I only have one that I haven't opened for colleciton purposes, I came across another WFT a couple days ago and said "fuck it, why not". Other than that, they're all getting opened and displayed. If fucking Pokemon cards didn't hold value, these things won't either.

Just did that! I was a bit worried. Best Buy sent me two $10 gift cards this morning, saying I hadn't bought anything from them in a long time. That's true. Thanks Best Buy! I took the opportunity to buy 3 amiibos, Falcon, Pit, and Meta Knight.
Now the search is on for Mac.
