I limit myself to buy only the Fire Emblem amiibo (for now at least), and bought Marth yesterday (yeah, I'm a bit late, but whatever). I openened it up as soon as I got home. I think the figurine looks ugly behind the plastic, and if I pay 13€ for it, I want to be able to take a better look than I can in store everytime.
Well, that and I don't plan on selling than thing anytime anyway, so why shouldn't I get rid of the packaging.

Of course they do, you don't have 5 cents of warped plastic reflecting light and obscuring detail. The only reason I can see to keep the packages is if you really do want to sell them someday (in which case effort vs return is highest right now). Otherwise it makes sense to instead work on having a nice display for them.

I'm keeping the boxes exactly for this, just in case.

These could be useful if I move elsewhere as well.
