Really enjoyed playing with my new Zelda and Mac Amiibos. Mac is pure pain when he get's up in levels (and learns how I play).

Preordered Ike from Target. I know thats going to be a pain in the ass to find later.
I doubt she's sold out, even the out of print Amiibo fluctuate in and out of stock at times. Maybe less so in the US, but she'll always be available somewhere, no different to Villager, Wii Fit Trainer and Marth. You can find them if you look hard enough, you just have to import is all.

Of course there's always a chance. But will Nintendo make it happen is a different story.
Nintendo has basically confirmed that this smash line of amiibo is just the first line. They will launch more lines with more "natural" poses for some of these characters like Mario. They also hinted at other forms of amiibo. Amiibo isn't just a figure according to them if I recall correctly.

At this point, I'm pretty much done. Rosalina I'm sure I can find a figure of down the line of her, I now just need ones like Ness, ROB, Duck Hunt- the characters you won't find a figure of anywhere.
I'd love to be able to get the amiibos of everyone because they're great figures, but being a giant pain in my ass does not make one want to keep going. I'll grab Captain Falcon here, and be done for the year.

Went to my local Toys R Us and they had some of the common ones, but no wave 2 amiibos.

That's rough on people wanting to collect though and keep them in the packaging. Europe and Japan's packaging is different than NA's. I'm trying to go for a consistent look, so unless there is a specific one that is Japan only (like a famicom rob color or something), I want mine to all look the same.

Villager is £12.99 and Marth is £10.99 now.
Just bought Villager, but bought Marth from coolshop for £15 a couple of days ago..
Hopefully Wii Fit Trainer comes back so I don't have to import it from Germany

This is my approach as well.
If I truly wanted ones like Yoshi and DK I would have bought some of those Jakks Pacific figures.
But others like Cap, Mega Man, Ness, and Meta Knight are pretty darn unique as merchandise.

Im surprised people are surprised by figures selling out so fast when skylanders first started out it was near impossible to find certain characters or expansion packs and at the time they didnt even allow pre-orders for anything skylanders related so you had to camp out hours in advance to just guarantee you would get one you wanted.

Anything X related makes me think like Nintendo would sell them at a higher premium. Especially the mechs.
Splatoon and Pokken seem more likely to happen and hit the same price point as right now.

I have faith Rosalina will come back for pre order since she doesn't say "Sold Out" and just has the pre order button greyed out. Marth says Sold out. Need some reassurance lol.
Yeah no doubt, I would hazard a guess and say the US variants would be the most sought after down the line if they actually hold their value (which I doubt because Nintendo will probably over saturate the market will Amiibo by the end of the gen). I just resorted to importing from Japan since stock is ample there. Packaging overall isn't too different across regions, but yeah for collectors it sucks. But hey, at least it's a lifeline if you can't find them at all.

Yeah I agree. If I end up taking mine out of the packaging, I'll probably start importing. This is especially true if Nintendo does infact discontinue some/all of the Holy Trinity.
I somehow think that just has to do with the fact that it's a preorder vs. something that's actually released. Rosalina can't be TRULY sold out yet because she was never truly in stock. Marth however, was released and there is no stock of him coming as of this moment (as far as I am guessing as your average observer).

I mentioned it in the other amiibo thread (about Rosalina), but the clerk there told me that Nintendo has informed retailers that they'll be doing a massive re-release of the entire set sometime after wave 3 comes out.
I hope she's telling the truth. If so, suck it, scalpers!

Is it too late to secure a Lil Mac? Everyone seems to be legitimately sold out except for Best Buy, which should be stocking them tomorrow or Friday from what I've read. Looks like it's sold out online, but available to pick-up in store, however the "add to cart" button does nothing. I'm wondering if it's because preorders are sold out or because they haven't put it on shelves yet.

I couldn't post last night but I stopped by Target around 10PM central and saw a few pegs for Luigi. One of them had Mario over one and the other was completely empty. I asked a nearby employee if the Luigi sticker was just up early or if he was actually there and was sold out. He said it was sold out, but was very hesitant, leading me to believe he didn't know who Luigi actually was. I suspect Luigi will actually be put up today or tomorrow.
To be fair I could see them just incorporating the current Amiibo with many games, for example a game in the vein of Xenoblade could use the Mario Amiibo for Mario themed Mech or Link for Master Sword weapon or something...but really I doubt it since the game isn't too far off in Japan and we've heard nothing about Amiibo suport and it doesn't seem like the type of game that would get Amiibo support in any case. It's a more core game so there's less money to be extracted from its audience in Nintendo's eyes, otherwise I would have loved Bayo Amiibo and TW101 Amiibo lol
I think we'll see Amiibo in most/all of Nintendo's main IP that are more family friendly/marketable and with the Smash line-up reaching far and wide I could see them just reusing those Amiibo for games that might not justify a whole new line-up and repackaging them.
