Nintendo has basically confirmed that this smash line of amiibo is just the first line. They will launch more lines with more "natural" poses for some of these characters like Mario. They also hinted at other forms of amiibo. Amiibo isn't just a figure according to them if I recall correctly.

Actually kind of good news, especially if there's more of a "chase" factor (holograms, 1 of 1s, etc. - if you think this figure chase is bad you have NO idea) where it's essentially impossible to get every card of a character that you like. Makes it a little easier to say no, unless the functionality really blows me away.

Not to mention that the figures can be displayed and organized much more easily. I used to be a baseball card collector and storing and displaying those became a nightmare.

I have 0 interest in amiibos for smash, but im getting a few (2 or 3, its my brother christmas gift for me - dont know which ones will be)

Im bettting on future games. But its a bet. It may not happen at all.... or happen in dissapointing ways

It seems too good of an idea to make a dedicated amiibo game for nintendo to pass it up

If it never happens, at least i have some cool nintendo figures that unlock cute little stuff in a few games.

I am expecting that they will do this, at least partially if not fully. They need to keep those Amiibo displays stocked with something.

They are only about halfway done with the Smash line with the first 3 waves. I could foresee a wave 4 sometime in April or even late March.

Well, I guess I missed Rosalina... luckily I live near a Target that is pretty good about keeping these in stock. I had no trouble getting my Little Mac from them last friday, and as of last night they still had a Diddy Kong sitting on the shelf. Small town, combined with it being the actual smallest Target in the nation are going to play in my favor here, I think. I hope.

I've got four Targets within a 25 mile radius of me, so I'm confident that I'll be able to find one (heck, I found all three of wave one's rares two weeks later without any pre-orders). It still would have been nice to be able to pre-order one though...still refreshing the page hoping the option will become available again.

We just have to hope there's actually a proper release date. The dates have been all over the place with most of wave 2
