I just ordered Lucario on Toys R Us again. Because I'm stupid? Maybe it won't cancel this time
I'm so frustrated :/ Still don't know when Best Buy will have my Luigi pre order - that is if they don't sell it to someone else first.
Yeah I preordered again too, haha. If mine gets cancelled again, I'll be done trying. I'll just look to trade for one (although it might end up becoming the amiibo unicorn purely because no one will be able to get the damn thing)

Just wnet to a carrefour (spain).
Bought from the first wave I was missing Peach and Link (there were like 30 links on display, much more than any other characters) and a Yoshi for one of my cousins. Wiifit, villagers and marths were nowhere to be seen (although they were at the beginning of the first wave). My Peach and Links are pretty good, eith Link having a perfect face.
Wave 2 had there bunch of Luigis, 4 captain falcons and 1 Pit. Ni zeldas or diddys and I asked the person in charge for Little Macs, she looked for them on the PC and they didnt brought any.
Got a pretty excellent captain falcon and the only Pit that was there (that is in perfect condition).
Going to hunt for Little Macs this afternoon in other places.
Pretty happy about the quality if all the amiibos Ive bought, easier to find good ones from the imperfects than when I was lookin for disney infinty figures a year ago.

My Pit pre-order got cancelled from ToyRUs as well, but I was able to snag a Lucario pre-order. It's like trading blows at this point.
Wonder if I should cancel my Lucario Play-Asia pre-order or keep it as a safety net.

Some local news from a dis-size french town, if it can be of some help to other european Amiibo chasers (I'm really getting a "gotta find'em all" vibe)
Wave 2 hit France this morning, and all 6 characters are available.
The first shop (Toys're us) had ~50 amiibos :
- 70% of the first wave (the missing ones, without surprise, were Kirby, Marth, WFT and Villager)
- 5-6 Luigis
- 5-6 Diddy kong
- 2 Zelda
- 1 Pit
- 1 (damaged) Falcon
but no Little Mac
The second shop (electronic appliances, mostly) had ~20 amiibos
- some of the wave 1, and, curiously, both Marth and Villager (that's only the second time I see one in a shop!)
- 2 Luigis
- 2 Diddys
- 1 Zelda
- 1 Little Mac
and no Falcon/Pit
The third one (culture shop of a supermarket) had a couple of 1st wave, but no 2nd wave (but at the same time, they put Amiibo on display 1 week after everyone, so I'm not really surprised).
Luigi and Diddy seems to be the most common for now, Zelda being a close third. Without surprise, the other ones are scarse.
I'll go hunting for a Falcon this afternoon... I hope I'll be lucky (although I think this morning was already quite good)

That's a good business move. They don't want a ton of returns, or for legit customers to be buying on eBay. It looks like my pre-order for one is still going to be shipped to me.
Now for target to do the same for Rosalina. Was there really no limits the first time?That's my thiught as well.

What a mess.
Just got through the entire nonsense of what happened when I went to bed.
My damage: My Pit got cancelled from TRU.com.
My potential damage: All of those cards I got for myself and gaffers yesterday in-store might be worthless. However, I want official word from TRU on that potential. I saw that one person said they called corporate but I need more than that. At current, I wasn't refunded for the money I put down on the cards, so that leads me to believe my pre-orders are still worthwhile in the store.
At this point, my beautiful fiancee has re-purchased 1 Lucario for ourselves through the new pre-orders on the website, but who knows what is legit anymore.
I want to vent about one thing real fast though. At the heart of this debacle I blame 3 groups of people:
1) Toys R Us for all of this nonsense. Even if you fucked up and mistakenly should have done 1 per customer to begin with, you don't just mass cancel pre-orders.
2) Scalpers. Fuck them, continue to fuck them and their making everyone panic buy things.
3) Reddit. I actually am more and more blaming them for this specific situation with Lucario. I notice several of you who post here go there as well, so you should know what I'm talking about, but for the uninitiated there was some shady shit with the in-store pre-order cards going on there. When they first came out earlier this week, redditors became concerned that their local TRU had either been picked over by a scalper or weren't going to get the cards in at all because only select places seemed to be getting pre-order cards.
This led people to start scanning the backs of the cards and passing out the SKU number for people to get unwitting TRU associates in the store to make reservations in their system WITHOUT the cards actually being there. These people reserved Lucario in the store without receiving a card but still had the receipt. So we had people basically brute forcing their reservations in the system. As we know, pre-order cards started dribbling out to stores throughout the week. My local ones only got them yesterday in Maryland. So its no fucking shit that they oversold. A store that planned to get lets say 25 pre-order cards suddenly had 40 pre-orders in the system (just random numbers, but you get the idea). Multiply that happening all over NA because people are trying to get around the system that TRU was trying to set up to manage pre-orders. I understand people just trying to get what they want, but this shit shouldn't happen. It fucks over everyone that tries to get legit pre-orders.

Damn. Amazon UK has stopped taking pre-orders for all wave 3 Amiibos. The only wave 2s they have in stock are Luigi and Zelda. I guess they closed pre-orders die wave 3 after seeing how little stock they got for the wave 2 Amiibos - especially Little Mac and Diddy Kong

I'm starting to believe that TRU and maybe Target (with their cancellations) might have wiped the slate in an effort to combat scalping since they're instituting the 1 per customer (or 3 for Captain Falcon) on these next amiibos.

yeah but for those that had lucario in with other released order AND preorders that we actually legit.....sucks. this change should have come when Marth and Villager started to skyrocket...at least with the exclusives.

Wow that's insane. If I was toys r us, I would check the database on when the cards came in and check if the pre-order was done before that time.. If it was and the person shows up, they will get their pre-order refunded

I think the WHOLE wave 2 was dispatched in Europe today (as planned initially, if I'm not mistaken). Pit is definitively available in french stores today, at least, as all other 5 from wave 2.
I'm not sure... If they proceed like Amazon France, pre-orders are closed, then sometimes opened again, then closed again...
I think they close the pre-orders when they reach a threshold of their expected shipment, then ask if they can get more, and if that's the case, they sell more.
But we'll see, I hope I'll be able to find wave 3 (most figures are in good condition, but I'm still not sold on buying Amiibos online, I prefer checking them in stores)
My GF had the same thing happen. For what it's worth, Captain Falcon is up now.

Just checked out the amiibo display in my local game (uk) and they're overflowing with Captain Falcons, they're like 3/4 of the amiibos on display. No Little Mac at all.
It's definitely looking like TRU just purged all the preorders and instituted a limit on how many. There must of been a ton of lucario's with like 10 or 12 on the order for them to do this.
The pit page definitely went up as a mistake. By the time I posted it on gaf it was already down. Considering he's the only one not even listed there, it's possible TRU isn't even getting him in.
I have to agree with everyone here though. Trading Pit for Falcon and Lucario seems fair. I feel really bad for everyone who preordered them only to have them cancelled. Especially given it's 6 days to Christmas and a lot of people may be out of town and shit out of luck.
