I'm starting to regret getting into Amiibos. It seems like any figure that I really want is near impossible to get due to supply issues. I feel like Nintendo did this on purpose to build up hype.

I'm thrilled to hear your got your Little Mac.

Others have been having extreme difficulties acquiring him from Best Buy today. Some have associates that have claimed he is not being released until a later date (again), others have plain disappeared.

Ugh... What time did it sneak up this time? I think I'm more pissed because I was up almost all night last night (not for Rosalina), if I had even thought they were going to open 'em again, I'd have kept an eye open.

In other news, I called TRU this morning (about an hour and a half after they opened) to inquire about Pit and Captain. They said they didn't have any; whether they did and sold through, I'll never know.

Also, the Target close to my office has a bunch of Zelda. Anyone still looking for her?
 
For a minute I was thinking big deal, this doesn't bother me..

But I was just in my local TRU yesterday, and since I had already ordered the Luigi I didn't think anything of it, so I didn't bother picking him up.

Now my order is cancelled..

EDIT: Seems it was just the PIT portion of the order.
 
Picked up Little Mac this morning. The shelves were moved to accomodate new stock, but the pegs were empty.

The girl working the desk at Best Buy in Aventura, FL said I was lucky Mac went through the system (probably since it was a preorder.) I asked about other amiibos and she saif that they'd turned down sales of the new Amiibos all morning because the SKUs were messed up, so they put them all away.

Something shitty is happening.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if the rumor from earlier in the week that Best Buy was purposefully holding back stock until between Christmas and New Years to try to goad people into coming in the store, was true. Just a rumor of course but today's shenanigans with him make me think something is fishy.

My Target has place holders set up for Pit and Captain Falcon, but nothing yet. When they scan it it always says the entire Twin Cities area is out of stock. Guess we haven't gotten them yet....
 
I don't know who is to blame for this, Nintendo or TRU. How do you mess up inventory count so bad to have to cancel all orders like this? Very unacceptable.
 
booooo. I really want a Rosalina. I'm never sleeping again.

that way I can work all through the night and I won't care about spending $100 on a Rosalina on eBay
 
Sorry for asking again but has anyone bought a Marth from eBay? There are a number of Marths from Japan on eBay with free shipping. Is it really free shipping if it is coming internationally to my country? USA.
 
No W2B at a Target in east metro Twin Cities. The Target dude (who SEEMS to be in the know) spoke with the Nintendo rep, who speculated at "before Christmas" (22nd-23rd ish).

I think I've gotten free shipping for items from Japan in the past, so it's not that unheard of really. Be prepared to wait up to a month for the item to arrive however.
 
My local Target had about 6 Luigis. I had one in hand, but decided to put it back. I have him preordered already, so I'll just wait to see if it ships. If it doesn't or if anymore of my preorders get cancelled, I think my mission to go for a complete set will be over.
 
Amazon NA hasn't shipped my Falcon, Luigi or Pit yet..nor is there a date for them. Anyone else experiencing the same? I just want to make sure cause I thought I read some folks have been getting theirs

Same here. Cancelled Luigi and got him at Toys R Us a few days ago. Think I'm going to go with Gamestop for my wave 3 orders and drop Amazon.

Haven't heard anything from them yet for those three. But I didn't hear anything from Amazon until Monday about Zelda, Little Mac, and Diddy and then all three showed up on Wednesday. So I'm not too worried right now.

Yeah, I'm starting to think it's a little pointless to get everything as it releases, if at all. Way too much of a headache at this point.

Hopefully things get better after the holiday season & the rare amiibos get restocked.

I'm being told by different stores that we're not getting wave 2B until the end of December in Canada, which is weird considering some people already got them...

Great! Always glad to hear we have people in the area on the look out.

Also, not sure it even matters anymore, but the Toys R Us in Frederick where I got my pre-order cards for Lucario still had a bunch when I left last night. Might give them a call or check there if you still need one.
 
I know I might be crazy but.. am I the only one that doesn't sleep well recently because of all this Amiibo hunting stuff? I just keep thinking about it. ;_;

Thanks, that's genuinely surprising coming from Nintendo. Guess I'll just pay the shipping and do it all that way rather than participate in the circus of canceled preorders and retailer exclusives here in NA.
 
live in Germany. Went to pick up some wave 2 characters. Found a lonely Marth. Picked that up too.

Besides that i got Diddy Kong and Luigi. I have 9 total right now and i'm wondering if i should just get them all while i'm at it even though i don't see much use for the Villager or Peach in my case.

I haven't lost sleep but it has put a bit of a damper on my holidays. I was really happy yesterday when I was able to secure some pre-order cards for gaffers and myself, but with all of the cancellations and other uncertainties, etc. it has really brought things down a notch.
 
Hit up my Toys R Us in Wyomissing Pennsylvania today (3rd day straight) only Zelda and Luigi are around from 2nd wave. Just about 10 Luigi but lots of Zelda.

1st wave has lots of Kirby, Mario, Samus and Pikachu.

Target in same area has Zelda, Mario, Yoshi, Samus. About 5 of each and that is it.
 
My TRU AND Target pre-orders were cancelled. I had Pit, Falcon, Luigi, and Diddy pre ordered at Target, and at TRU I had all of wave 3 pre-ordered. Such crap.

Same here...ridiculous...I know some of the shipment issues have to do with port strikes...but if it's that...then they should just delay...not cancel...
 
Sorry if this says somewhere, but I see a lot of talk about Rosalina and Lucario in here recently, but aren't those supposed to be in Wave3 which is coming late Jan/Feb?
 
So I just got back from BestBuy (Fairfax, Virginia), Not only are there no new characters today (pushed back to the 30th according to them), the little mac they told me to come in for is not available to be sold because the street date changed. They guy called corporate for support and still couldn't resolve it. I had them hold it in case something changes later today, but I won't hold my breath. Also said they have 30 diddys lost in transit somewhere.

I think I've about had it with this. I had an easier time buying a wii at launch.

Also, I've seen people ask about hhgregg carrying them. Not at mine at least. Also none at my local F.y.e.

I was able to pick up my preorder of Little Mac at Best Buy no problem yesterday...weird...

See? This movement of the street date is so fishy it stinks.
 
Now, my online Gamestop preorders worry me. I did in store pick up which is free and all are from the "February wave". Might go to the store in a few days to check if there's any change in the orders.
