still saving up for a Wii U so I can use them...but I may never get there if I keep on spending all my money on amiibo

Somewhat related, when searching for amiibos I'm noting empty shelves where the Wii U and its software used to be at Target and Best Buy. Could amiibo be driving sales of Wii U?
 
Was just at my local Target this morning, they had nothing new (and target.com showed no stock at that location). Now the web site is showing Falcon and Luigi both in stock.

Heck.... now I've gotta go back. I just don't trust using the phone.

Happened to me. They said no in the morning, went back and they had them.

Feels that way. I had Falcon pre-ordered because he looks cool, but then I saw the stands and noped out. I have the amiibo I want, no more and no less: Zelda, Samus, Fox and Yoshi (as a gift).

Got most of them from Tesco for a flat tenner each, free next day delivery to local store. Easy peasy.

Yep. 20 is about my limit for anything on wave 2. The headaches just aren't worth saving another 7 bucks or so. Wave 3 I finally got the hint and have pre ordered at GS/best buy. We will see how well that goes though :/

they're basically scalping them. They already charge an extra dollar for no reason and no way they're actually spending $4 to ship these. The demand is there though.
 
I had some weird glitch on eBay where my order didn't show up at first... so I placed it again. Now I have two orders. I didn't want two, I hope they don't cancel on me because of the limit. :(
 
Found a Luigi. Fresno GAF, the target on n Blackstone next to the best buy has a bunch of Luigi.

Edit: caught a stock guy putting out stuff. Asked him if any of those boxes had amiibos. He checked, scored capt and diddy!
 
Gave my local target a quick check for Captain Falcon, they have jack in terms of Amiibos. Maybe I'll give another store that says they have it in stock.

What retail outlets have gotten him so far?
 
i literally bought a Captain Falcon from TRU's ebay 5 minutes ago and now the listing has disappeared.

we need a long german word for the bizarre feeling of things like this.
 
Found four captain Falcons at Target in Wauwatosa WI, I took two and left two they were behind a the electronics counter in shipping the box.

I just did that with Little Mac an hour ago.

Selbstzufriedenheit is "Self Satisfaction." So that might work. I don't think it's Amiibo specific though.

Yep. That is how I feel about it. It was free shipping off ToysRUS.com right?

Now they are charging between $4 to $5.22 to ship each figure.

I just realized buying amiibos is the metagame Nintendo wanted us to play.


And we are losing.


I still need to secure Diddy Kong, Marth and Rosalina, and all the others I have preorders on best buy for shipping, has anyone had problems with best buy not shipping amiibo preorders? I heard all those stories about in-store pick up.

I visited my local TRU yesterday an they had wave 2 in which was lucky. I went on a whim since I didn't know if they were breaking street dates in the UK.

I had a couple from Wave 1 already but I'm only getting my favourites. I only really need WFT from the ones already out so I just hope they get restocked and lose the value placed on them I just wish I'd picked her up while I could have since now I've got a couple of amiibo on my desk they look pretty nice lined up.

There was a couple of each character stocked in my store with each wave, but after a couple of days into wave 1 when I went back to get a WFT they just had Link, Pikachu and Mario left and a lone Peach.

I might pick up Falcon from this wave I'm not sure. His rendered pose is a little silly imo. I'm a little disappointed with Little Mac since I i expected him to be a tidge bit bigger or with a bit more definition. He also feels really brittle compared to the others.

I cannot wait to see my bae Jigglypuff and what it'll look like. They better do her justice
 
Canceled my Luigi and falcon best buy pre orders. Using them only as backup at this point. I don't trust then at all. I ordered wave 3 on the site to be shipped to my home so I hope those are ok.
