Mario = Pauly (Pauly D)
Marth = Mafia (Swedish House Mafia)
Villager = Pepsi (St. Pepsi)
Peach = Paris (Hilton)
DK = Tiesto
Yoshi = Aoki (Steve Aoki)
Kirby = Maus (Deadmaus)
Link = Skrillink (Skrillex)
etc.

I hope to keep this theme going til the end but I hope I don't run out of DJ's I like

I looked and they are all pretty similar in my experience. Some have eyes s little closer together which makes him less derpy. I like his derp. Diddy derp.

I called a nearby Gamestop yesterday that, according to their website, didn't have any in stock. Turns out that they had just gotten a shipment in but hadn't yet scanned it into their system. The guy there took out the one Pit that wasn't a preorder fulfillment and set it aside for me (which apparently he wasn't supposed to do, given how rare these things are). Awesome dude.

So, keep calling around. You may stumble on one, especially if someone doesn't come in to claim their preorder in time.

That's a lot of money and shelf space for a roster that'll include a bunch of characters I care little about.

I guess I could pick and choose the ones I want, but once I hear a character is rare (which they all eventually become, right?) I feel compelled to grab it.

Anyone else feeling similarly conflicted?

I kinda am... I have most of wave 1 and wave 2 already, and have 7 of the wave 3 amiibos preordered. Looking at the roster, there aren't many characters beyond those already announced that I want an amiibo for (less than 10) but I just know I'm gonna end up with more than what I really want just because of the pressure that "character I kinda like becoming ultra rare" entails. Hell there are some figures I preordered in wave 3 that fit that criteria (Ike and Dedede... cool characters and their figures look really nice, but I doubt I'd feel compelled to get them if they weren't likely to become rare). It's a vicious cycle.

Welp, just about caught up with Wave 2...just need Falcon and Pit. A friend heard Gamestop near us might get Falcon tomorrow...I'll have to go and check lol.

Not sure if it'll work or not, but I found out that Target is doing a buy 1, get 1 40% off on all video games on the 26th/27th. Infinity and Skylanders are mentioned in the deal, and usually with these things, Skylanders are not mentioned and work anyways so my theory is that amiibo might fall under the bogo deal too.

Probably not helpful for anyone looking for newer guys, but if you have some Wave 1 things, hey there ya go.

Nah, I decided which ones I'm getting, and I'm not changing that just because a character is rare or whatever.

I'll be getting most of the Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, Starfox and Pokemon ones, plus some one offs with Shulk, Yoshi, Captain Falcon, Little Mac, Olimar, Ness, Game & Watch and Duck Hunt.

Don't give a crap about most of the rest so I won't waste my money.

I'm still going to get like 60% of them, but that 40% is still hundreds of dollars saved.
