North America yes is a pretty big mess.

That's not even funny. That'd piss me off to no end. It's like when I see DLC from certain retailers. I no understand why North America are having a hard time with Lucario and Shulk. At least in the UK it's anywhere that sells Amiibos will have all of them to buy. Not to brag, it's just absurd.

Good Luck! I know you've been stalking that page and just missing it so I hope you have some success this time!

Thank you. I think I might need it... hopefully it goes up for sale again otherwise another wasted night so far I've managed to to get all the way to the submission page and actually have that go through only to get a receipt for 0.00$... with no items on it... I even got a card charge for 0.00$... which makes NO sense...

Still in the packaging

That's a custom, albeit a really good one. And you can see a tear in the back left of the card.

Ok so it turns of that my sister in law did pick me up a Marth and Villager for Christmas!!!! Now I have x2 in the box! I'm debating on opening them or keeping them in their boxes :-)

I also have a wii fit trainer and little Mac in boxes as well :-). Man, I'm so greedy :-).

They are awesome.

Buy 2 of each open 1 thats what I do and I keep 1 sealed for myself as well. :) It's not greedy if you collect thats just the nature of the beast.

Got a Samus for Xmas from my friend. Wasn't expecting that since I thought he might get me Link as I'm still hooked on Hyrule Warriors but Samus looks awesome and I nearly impulse bought her this month.

Ordered a WFT off amazon.de as per your suggestions here. Paid a couple of quid extra than rrp but just in case Nintendo do the silly thing and really' don't' restock her since she's one of my faves.

My collection in order of acquisition stands at Fox, Mario, Peach, Mac, Pit, Zelda, Falcon, and Samus.

I only really want Jigglypuff, Toon Link, Dedede, and Palutena now. Maybe my bae Ganondorf if he looks good. Maybe Mewtwo depending on how his model looks. I love these stupid desk dust collectors.

Any trick for free shipping? I'm willing to eat the cost difference between Best Buy with GCU and this, but to add on shipping is making me think I may just take my chances and see if I can hunt one down now that the holidays are over...

Coupon code SAVER is free shipping on anything over $25. As long as you're buying 2 amiibos you'll hit it.

Pit hasn't been available for hours. Type SAVER into promotional code field for free shipping. You have to spend over $24.99 to get it though so buy 2 Macs.

Dang. I read about Pit, but yeah, all I still need is Pit, Captain Falcon, and Little Mac. And thanks to GCU I lose out big time on videogames if I don't go with Best Buy so I can't tag those on... Man, I guess I'll have to think on it, and if it sells out in that time then that's just what'll happen, and he'll be added back to the list for the hunt!

My husband hates that I'm collecting these but he still got me Pikachu and Villager for Xmas so he's part of the problem:D Really glad he found a Villager, he was the only rare one I really wanted. He said he had it on his desk at work and people were offering to buy it from him.

My GAF SS also got me a Diddy Kong. It was a good day for my Amiibo collection.

:O didn't know you are into this Dupy! :D

Amazon.fr does not equal US packaging and thats what I want most for my collection I don't car where the one I open comes from....

Just restart your collection with European Amiibos instead, case closed. ;P The European boxes are superior anyway thanks to the numbering.

For people who have Amiibos from different regions, once they are out of the package is there any way to tell where the Amiibo was originally sold, or are they all the same? I know North American Mario says NVL-001 on the bottom (and a bunch of other letters), but I'm wondering if anything identifies the region. Thanks.

Thanks for the extra info about other games.
I get what you mean but my kid says this is stupid and does not see the point, we just assumed they would work sort of like skylanders so he could power up his own amiibo that he could get new moves for abd use to battle me. Never mind, he will just have keep the rare ones in boxes and see what uses they have in future.

Being like Skylanders is explicitly what Nintendo wanted to avoid as they don't want core content already in the game to be locked behind their toys. Ultimately, the amiibo in Smash are their own self contained side content while acting as unlocks for extras in multiple future games. You can go on to Nintendo's amiibo page to see what games have been announced as amiibo compatible so far. Just note that only Smash writes to the figures (saving their customized data) while other games only read them. Also, suggest your kid not dismiss them so fast for not being Skylander clones. The amiibo are much more interesting to play against or team up with than the standard AIs are. They actually learn from their opponents and can be taught to a certain degree particular fighting styles. A way to think of them is this: they are real time Pokemon.

Agreed but I'd argue that Nintendo is missing out on a huge opportunity for DLC down the road. I know I would feel better about buying Ice Climbers DLC if I got an Amiibo to go along with it.

I figure they are testing the waters right now and seeing where demand is at. I like their non core approach but have no problem attaching DLC, even significant DLC like characters to the figures. They aren't poorly implemented, they're just very lightly implemented. I'm quite interested to see future uses. But certainly, right now the figures are mostly their own draw.

I've both emailed Nintendo and told Nintendo this on a customer service call (for a different issue), but I would suggest people in this thread email Nintendo asking for them to sell amiibo that get pulled from retail through the store on Nintendo.com. If everyone in here demands they sell them through the site, it absolutely will happen.
