Ah! Wave 2 is out? I'm going to have to hunt some down when I head back home to Japan. I think amiibos are slightly easier to find there than in the US (especially in my local game store).

Took some guess work, but done!
Space is for Diddy Kong. Pit and Falcon would complete it.

I've decided to sell off the figures I will never use. The idea of getting a full set is insane. All mine were hand selected and have great paint jobs and no obvious flaws. They are all the USA version of course, and sealed unless otherwise stated. Any opened ones still have the packaging, though. PM me if you are interested in any of the following:

Captain Falcon
Little Mac
Yoshi
Wii Fit Trainer
Samus (opened)
Villager (opened)

With a new Starfox game coming out, I'd assume he would stay in production. I can't see him being hard to find for all of eternity like a Villager.

Talked to a nintendo rep at Toys R Us here in WV on that. He's thinning in Wave 2 and 3. He wont be like Villager but he will become increasingly more rare.

My current Amiibos. Haven't really decided where to place them yet or if I should ever open them, but currently have them just resting upon a game shelf:

maybe place them outside of their packaging. They'll fit on that shelf if you do.

Remember that these current figures are the "Smash Bros Series". When a new Fox game comes out, I'm sure that they will release a differently-posed Fox. I'm sure this is Nintendo's plan for a lot of characters going forward, because they don't have the endless collection of characters that Skylanders or Disney does.

Founding them in London was becoming impossible... Thankfully I went back home in Italy for Xmas and they are fully stocked in my city.

I grabbed villager, pit, pikachu and Kirby so far

That would mean unboxing them, which is crazy.

The Nintendo Voice Chat podcast makes collecting these figures seem like so much fun, like a community event almost. It is too bad they are quite steeply priced in mainland Europe. €15/20$ is a bit too much for me to start going wild with, especially since they don't do all that much. I feel with Skylanders I can justify buying them since I will actually use them. Amiibo still feels like regular action figures which don't move to me. Also calculated what all of them together would cost, assuming they will at least make 50 of them, and the total rang up to over 700 euro.

I felt the same way. It's insane. Yet, I'm forging ahead, LOL :-)

Got an extra Yoshi from my brother. Thought about trying to do a paint job on it, but no idea how to do any of that. Anyone have a link to some how to somewhere lying around?

I went ahead and cancelled my German Rosalina preorder (I don't need two and I'll probably forget to cancel later on and get two shipped to me). Don't fail me France.

What are the rarer Amiibos that are out right now? It seems that Marth, Villager, WFT, Little Mac, and Pit are, but who is past that?

In order of rarity based off my experience:

1. Villager
2. Wii Fit Trainer
3. Marth
4. Pit
5. Little Mac
6. Captain Falcon
7. Diddy
8. Fox

The rest are common.

Captain Falcon and Fox, but they're not as rare as the ones you mentioned I believe.

Yeah they're still sending shipments of those two. Same with Diddy. They were initially hard to find and sold out almost immediately. I think it's starting to cool down for now.

Well, finally put in a preorder for Rosalina at amazon.fr. Wish I didn't have to, but rather spend a little extra then continue trying to score a preorder at the Target website.

There are a couple gamestops with pit in stock... But they are "reserved" at what point do they sell those reserves?

Depends on the store. Some wait 48 hours (which I believe is the length they are 'supposed to' hold it for) others wait a week, since people won't come out until the weekend to get it. Some also hold special requests if the person can't make it in for a few days.

Lots of factors.

EDIT: I recommend calling and put your name down on a waiting list. They might call the person directly to see if they still even want it.

Anyone buying 2 of each? One to display the other to keep packaged?

I am only planning on getting 3 amiibos (anyone else I get would just be an impulse buy) and they are most likely gonna be rare, so I am gonna do it for those 3 to display, and keep one packaged, although I guess its mostly so if something happens to one of the originals, I have a packaged reserve.
